My pre-order (and credit) disappeared!

I’ve had one or two folks tell me they had emails back saying the book failed to reach it’s funding target, with refunds being sent. 
They are a bit bamboozled now. 
Hope it can be sorted, as some of my friends are not the most tech savvy people as it is.

I tried to pre-order a Super Reader (3 books) yesterday.  I live outside North America.  When I went to place the order, I got a page saying that there was a "Shipping Fee Mismatch", and I could either change my address to a US one, or "Add shipping fee".  I clicked on "Add shipping fee".  It then took me to a page that said "Review your pre-order" and it told me I had purchased 0 copies of the book (and my $10 credit had disappeared).  I got an email telling me that my credit card would be refunded $50 ($60-10 credit), for my order of 3 books and 3(?) e-books.

What went wrong? And can I get my unused credit back?
