yeah, they don’t show too well when it’s scaled down it would seem. I might have to brighten them up a touch for the site.

I like them a lot!

I see subtle grey tallies in the image below, but my computer screen doesn’t show that much detail on the cover on your project page/in the top right corner of this page. Is that just my computer, or is it something that might need fixing? I think the grey tallies add a lot of meaning to the cover and I want to be able to see them, but maybe it’s just my screen...

There was no legitimate future for it beyond being a piece of fan fiction if it remained a Star Wars thing. So I figured if I wanted it to be something more than that, I had to branch out. Kinda glad I did now...lol

From what you said, does that mean Ghosts of War started out in the Star Wars universe? If so, what made you decide to branch it into your own universe?

@Joseph Terzieva Initially I came up with the story (very bare bones, it basically only had a beginning and an end) in an effort to fill a void that had been left by a lack of Star Wars (this was in 2009). Very early on it was even a Star Wars story in the vein of what the "anthology" films are going to be now, but I moved away from that soon after.

The idea of actually writing the novel didn’t come about until about the middle of 2014 when, after many failed attempts at creating it (comics, animation, scripts), I realised that a book was its best option.

The more personal reason behind doing it is that I wanted to be able to actually achieve something on this scale. I was sick right out of high school and have spent the last 10 years unemployed and virtually on my own with very little in the way of ’grand achievements’ to my name. So in part I’m looking at this book as a first step to making something of myself.

@Paul Robinson

What made you decide to write Ghost of War?

Awesome!!!! Thanks, @Paul Robinson ! This is so funny - Tony Valdez has Anton Yelchin as one character, and I had cast him, too, until Star Trek! Now I use that online face morphing program to morph several actors' faces together until I get someone who looks like the person in my head as much as possible (for drawing my characters).

And I love Rami Malek!

@Thaddeus Woodman VERY RELEVANT THANK YOU

alrighty, here we are. A couple of the supporting characters haven't been introduced yet in whats been shown so far, but they're kinda important and are pretty set in my mind so I included them too.

A few fun facts:
- Jeffrey Dean Morgan was originally Cole way back in the beginning, until I decided he needed to be younger.
- I may or may not have written Whil T'Qar specifically for Wil Wheaton...
- I only 'cast' Gregor, Tobias and Kira in the last 6 months, and now I can't see anyone else being them.
- actually that's a lie, I recast Gregor, he was originally Anton Yelchin, but then Star Trek happened and it felt a bit on the nose.
- The Oren casting will be obscure for most everyone, but guys, trust me...lol.

@A.C. Weston I can absolutely do that. Ghosts originally started as a script so I've had actors in place from the get go. I shall compile it shortly.

I want to know who your headcanons are for actors that would portray your main characters! It helps me imagine them when I'm reading.

With Ghosts now in the Quill collection, it's well on it's way to publication. Consider this thread like a reddit AMA, if you've got a thought, a question or a suggestion, have at it...
