Yes, I have been fixing the issue. I think this is a synchronization problem. That making a change causes a book to be bounced out of the contest for some period of time, then it fixes itself.  I don’t think that’s the behavior you want. It’s easy enough to reproduce.

Hey @Z.Z. Traver I see your project is in the contest and you’re in first place. Are you seeing something different? Or did you add yourself back?

I tried this again as I updated my pitch. I got bounced out of the contest again. Then after some period of time the problem corrects itself. Personally, I think this is still a bug.

Thanks for diving into this. They may have fixed a problem, but I am not sure if it’s perfect. I made a change to the pitch and description fields and for a while I was off the leaderboard. And then it seemed to correct itself after a few minutes. I am happy to diagnose this with the developer in further detail if that’s helpful.  Or maybe this is good enough.

Hi @Z.Z. Traver So our developer found out what was happening. If you stay on the edit page for more than a few minutes, the page was auto-saving, and that auto-save feature is what was un-setting the contest entry. He says he has fixed it, so please let me know if it happens again!
Thanks,
Elena

And again, I have changed the pitch description and *boom* I’m off the contest leaderboard, even though it still shows me as a contestant.

After randomly changing several fields, saving, changing, saving, changing, saving, it is corrected.

This is clearly a bug.

Yes, I know I’m back on the leader board now and I’m grateful I was able to fix the issue in the short term. But more importantly, this indicates a bug in Inkshares.  Please put me in touch with one of your developers. I am happy to work with them to develop a test case that can be reproduced. The idea is maybe we can fix this so that others don’t end up getting tripped up by this bug.

Hi @Z.Z. Traver I am so sorry this is happening. I see that you are #1 on the leaderboard and that you are in the contest. Would you mind emailing me at customer service the next time this happens?

Every time I edit my story page (e.g. the book description, About text) I notice that Inkshares removes my entry into the Mystery & Thriller contest. The first time I noticed this it was a panic and I thought maybe I had done something wrong. However, upon repeated edits of my pitch and description, I have been very careful not to change the Contestant field and it still happens every time. My book page notes that I’m a Contestant, but I’m not on the Leader board. After seeing this behavior on at least three occasions with my own book and also noticing other people falling out of the contest temporarily, I have concluded this is a bug in how Inkshares accepts changes to the book description fields.

The workaround is I have to go back and mess around 10 or more times changing random fields until it gets fixed. This time changing the title field fixed it.

Have other author noticed this?
