I'd say the beetle is the strongest of the three. The simple woods designs are a bit too basic and e-bookish for me.

I'm leaning hard toward #1.

Really like #1. Love the colors

If I had to choose from the 3, I think #1 is the best. I think if I had to choose from all of the covers shown, i really loved the simplicity of the black and gold beetle cover that was sent out as a preview!

Hi Gary - Thank you for all the updates...never been involved in something like this before, and it's fantastic. I'm in favor of Cover #1, it's the most ethereal and haunting. I'm intrigued by the night beetle and im curious to see how it is part of the story, but in terms of the "feel" of this story going in, that there is something in the darkness, just out of our ability to sense it; the cover with the beetle so prominent and solid is counter to that sense of "I know something is out there, but I don't know what" it's too "real and present" for the impression I have of where this is going. I'm really enjoying the process though. Thank you again! Mike

BACKERS! We have what we think are the three finalists for the cover! Take a look at these and see what you think. Two of them (the forests) you'll have seen versions of before, the third (what I lovingly call "night beetle") is a new variant of the beetle cover we had in an earlier round. I really liked the beetle image (when you read the book you'll see why the beetle is an important piece of iconography in the story) but also loved the creepy/spooky night imagery of the forests so I asked Jason to combine the two and this is what he came up with.

Whichever one we pick there will still be some tweaking to do, but the time has come to pick one and run with it! So let us know what you think, your opinion will help us make a final decision!
