We're so close now to this book being in your hands! This week we're approving the final the internal layout of the internal pages (fun fact: it clocks in at 341 pages) as well as the covers of the hardback and paperback editions. So I'm excited to be able to share with you now the final cover design, complete with a lovely endorsement from the great Hugh Howey! This image also includes the front inside flap. Check it out!

Well this is a very nice start to the week! Abomination has received a starred review in the new issue of Publishers Weekly, which I'm told is a big deal! Click the link below to read the review:

Very cool indeed, Gaz. Can't wait for my copy!

Very cool update for you all today! First some news:

The book is now in the final stages of copy-edit approval, which means we almost have a final manuscript ready for publication. We're also finalizing the covers for hardback and paperback editions, and we just got an amazing review blurb from the estimable Hugh Howey, author of WOOL, which will be going on our front cover. We expect the ebook version to be available very soon and that will be going out to all of you in advance of you receiving the print edition.

NOW. The cool stuff. When I was working on Star Wars one of the great privileges was the opportunity to work with the incredibly talented team at Industrial Light & Magic. Recently I asked one of their concept artists, Karl Lindberg, if he'd be interested in doing a few illustrations to help us visualize the world of Abomination. He's doing several illustrations for us, and I'm pleased to exclusively share the first piece of Karl's art with you here and now! Check out this piece, it's an image of our hero Wulfric, along with our OTHER hero (you haven't met her yet) and a third character that I'll call simply, "The Beast."

Inspired by Karl's amazing work, we've decided to make and give away exclusive art prints of his illustrations along with copies of the book to anyone who creates their own Abomination "fan art" as well as pre-ordering a physical copy of the book via Inkshares. Though the book isn't out yet, there's plenty of cool stuff in the first three chapters available on the site to inspire you. All of our Grand Patrons will be receiving the art prints with their copies of the book automatically!

Submit your Abomination art to me via Twitter @garywhitta with the hashtag #abominationart. I'll RT the best ones we receive! This will be fun!

Hello lovely supporters of Abomination! It's been a while so here's a quick update on where we're at. In the next day or two I'll be approving the final copy-edit and page layout for the book's hardback and paperback editions. We're also finalizing a beautiful map of medieval England that will be going in the front of the book, it's been illustrated by the super-talented Jonathan Roberts of Fantastic Maps, who created the official Westeros maps for George RR Martin!

Once all that is finalized the whole thing will be off to the printer! Right now we're targeting a print launch date of July 30 - that's the date your pre-ordered print copy should arrive in the mail, and also the date you'll be able to walk into a bookstore and buy it. The digital copy should be available before then (hopefully late June/early July) so whether you ordered a print or digital copy you'll be receiving that via email in advance of the print copy and then you can finally start reading! All very exciting!

Hi Gary, backing you made me so incredibly rich in Inkshares credits that I bought another copy of Abomination (this time the value-riffic paperback) to gift away. Are we safe to assume that the beautiful beetle cover has been decided on as being final?

Cheers!

Hello lovely readers/backers! It's been a while since the last update so here's a quickie. We're currently deep in the final edits for Abomination, making sure there are so unsightly grammatical errors, typos, or annoyingly long sentences, things like that. There will still be lots of horrendous, stomach-churning monsters though, don't you worry.

ALSO if you visited the site recently you may have noticed that there's a new PAPERBACK edition of the book now available for order. It's priced at a value-riffic $15.99 so for those who want something more physical than an ebook but less pricey than the $25 hardback, this is a great "porridge is just right" option! AND YOU STILL GET THE EBOOK INCLUDED. What is this madness? Here's the direct link to the paperback order page.

More news coming soon, we are working on some really cool stuff...

The Hubby and I say #2, although I do love the moody green-hued trees of #1!

I'm a fan of number 1, it's got a great sense of atmosphere. As someone who is waiting for the whole book before reading any of the Chapters, i'm unclear what the beetle signifies but the beetle cover doesn't really draw me in quite so much and along with the title suggests that the beatle is the Abomination at first glance.

I like #2 cover as well. I saw you on KindaFunny and thought you were absolutely fantastic and hilarious . Love all of your work to-date and just finished reading the first three chapters on GoodReads; can't wait for the book to come out now.
