Good day readers!

All is moving wonderfully with THE LOVE FOOL publication. As many of you already know, the official release date is 13 March 2018. 

You can now see THE LOVE FOOL listed on prominent retailer websites like Barnes & Noble, Amazon, but more importantly on IndieBound - where readers can find their local independent bookseller and hopefully pre-order. (More on this later.)

We are in the final stages of completing the book cover design. I’m working with a designer recommended by the wonderful staff at Inkshares.  And I cannot wait to share it with you all.

As far as the publication process, the manuscript should be in the galley proof stage by now, and would be coming to me for another review sometime soon. We’re on schedule for the March release and it is super exciting.

The official THE LOVE FOOL website will be coming early 2018.

I’ve also been working on other publications: I’ve been contributing to a lifestyle, food and travel magazine called Intermezzo Magazine; and you’ll see a classic aperitivo drink recipe I contributed to SIP the Magazine – a cocktail focused publication. Look for them at your local newsstand, bookstore or subscribe to each (see links).

I’ve already got the first rounds of edits back from the copy editor and I’ll be hard at work on the notes. Wow guys! This is really happening and I cannot believe it. Round 1 has begun!

Hello Readers,

I recently heard from Inkshares and it looks like a production schedule should be coming my way. This is great news! It means we are closer to getting the book in your hands. I am waiting for final confirmation on the release date and will announce as soon as I get it. The production and publishing process does have several steps so it will take some time. The manuscript has to go through a round of Inkshares edits that may or may not be needed. This process usually takes about a couple of months or so. In addition, the document itself needs to be set up for printing, making sure all the text lines up correctly for each page. And, not to mention assigning an ISBN number to make the book available for retail. Plus, we have to finalize the book cover. There’s a lot more detailed items, but that’s the gist. 

In the meantime, I wanted to share some other EXCITING NEWS: I have recently become a contributor to Intermezzo Magazine – a food and travel publication available by subscription, at bookstores, or newsstands across the country. My first contribution – a gorgeous photo of potatoes – can be seen in the current issue available now; and I’m working on something for the next/future issue.

Final note: The Love Fool website is moving along. I will update as soon as it’s ready to launch.

LP here giving you an update on The Love Fool (A Rome-antic Comedy).

I’ve been chipping away on my marketing research for publicity and promotion. And writing up the content for The Love Fool’s official website – to be launched in a couple of months. In the meantime, I did update the look of my blog Magnusmade. Check it out: www.magnusmade.com

Oh! And just today, I saw the first rounds of drafts for The Love Fool’s official book cover. And, I’ve got to say, it is looking sweet! But more on that later.

Other than that, I’m working on some new writing…

Hi guys,

I’m sure you’re all gearing up for a lovely summer. Just wanted to share a little update...

I recently went through the manuscript for THE LOVE FOOL again and confirmed the formatting (the font, margins, etc.) was set to industry standards. This final formatted version was sent back to Inkshares and now we’re back to waiting some more. Being this is my first time going through the venture of publishing, I’m learning that waiting seems to be one of the pains of the process. Ha!

We did not make the summer release cycle, but I’m hoping for the next season. Of course, I will update you on the release date as soon as it is confirmed.

In the meantime, I encourage you all to follow and engage on The Love Fool’sFacebook page. There you will find tips and insights on Rome, as well as any updates that I can offer. And don’t hesitate to post a comment. I’d love to hear from you all.

Hi everybody!

Just updating you on THE LOVE FOOL (A Rome-antic Comedy) and where I’m at in the process; as we’re waiting for a release date. 

I’m focusing on the book marketing strategy. I’ve got a few things floating and in the works. I’m currently typing up content for a media/press kit; which includes an official synopsis, my bio, with official photo and some FAQ. 

This information will also be included on the official website; which I’m also working on. I’m writing up content and organizing a layout that I want. The website will include samples from the story and more, including a potential new and official book cover design. 

Now, I know many of you expressed your fond for the temporary cover that I threw together and that you are all familiar with. I mean, yes, that is a great photograph that I took in Rome, and I’m not saying that photo will disappear. I’ll find use for it pertaining to this project. But, I am a hardcore fan of book cover designs and of course I want my first novel to have a cool artistic cover. And I feel this is my chance to work with a local artist to come up with a unique and memorable cover. I haven’t settled on an artist yet, but I’ve got a couple of artists in mind, and still exploring. More to come.

Hey readers!

I know it’s been a while since I last updated you.

Where are we at with the book? My publisher Inkshares is working diligently on many books that are in the line up – and yes, THE LOVE FOOL is included. As Inkshares knocks out the pile of books, THE LOVE FOOL moves up in the line for production. For now, we patiently wait for an official release date. And I will update you on that as soon as I know.

In the meantime, I’m currently in the planning stages for book publicity and promotion. Recently, I attended GrubStreet’s Muse and the Marketplace national writers conference in Boston. (Fellow writers: This may be something to look into.) I attended many sessions focusing on book marketing and publicity; learning the many different options for building awareness around my awesome novel. We covered topics from digital marketing, social media, live events, interviews, book clubs, and more. All fascinating insights specific to book marketing. 

Of course, there are many similarities to the publicity I’ve done in the past, so I felt a bit advanced in some sense. However, it’s always important to know how to market for a specific product, genre, and to a specific type of audience. I seem to be getting a little to MBA Marketing here, and I apologize. But for any marketing minds out there – you know how exciting and interesting learning this can be.

Anyway…. in the coming months, I’ll be working a lot on planning a strategy for THE LOVE FOOL’s release. And you’ll notice some of these new tactics as I roll them out. :)

Good Day Readers!

I apologize for not having any new updates for THE LOVE FOOL yet. I’m waiting patiently for release date information – but knowing that the final outcome will be great, I rest easily awaiting news.

In the meantime, I wanted to let you know about new projects I’m working on to keep my mind busy and not harping on the anticipation. Ha!!

As many of you know, this writing thing is still new to me. But, I find it to be a fun side project to my otherwise boring life. I can live through these made up characters and made up situations. With that said, these past months, I’ve completed a short story; which I’ve submitted to a few places and, again, waiting to hear back. And recently, I’ve been pushing forward with a new story that I hope to stretch out to another book. But, we’ll see. My challenge is to write a whole different type of story. THE LOVE FOOL can be considered a “romantic comedy” and it was fun writing it. But this new story will be nothing like it. To give you a little clue: I’m diving into a darker place in society. That’s all I can feel comfortable telling you right now.

I’m sure, like me, you are all dying to get your hands on THE LOVE FOOL. But in a world of instant gratification, some things are worth the classic wait. We have to keep in mind the fortunate success THE LOVE FOOL funding campaign achieved. I’m happy to be able to say that my novel will be published.

Inkshares is a small publishing outfit pushing out a good amount of books, all of which are funded by readers like you. I appreciate my collaboration with Inkshares as I know they will be taking the steps needed to get the most polished work in your hands. And these steps take time. Where is THE LOVE FOOL in all this? Well, I know that it is in line behind other books that have been funded before me. And, Inkshares is getting through their list. I support small business and am confident that Inkshares will take their time to make sure THE LOVE FOOL is presented in impeccable shape. Afterall, this is why I went this route to publish THE LOVE FOOL, rather than simply self-publishing. I want that other set of professional eyes to go through and make sure THE LOVE FOOL is presented to you and the public with prestigious and impeccable quality.

With all that said, it’s looking like THE LOVE FOOL could come to you in mid-late 2017; but I will update you with a confirmed release date as soon as I get my production schedule.

Hello fellow supporters!

Just a quick update, that’s not really an update but still somewhat of an update. A release date has not yet been set for THE LOVE FOOL. The full manuscript has been submitted and I’m just waiting to hear back on production schedule. I am assured that it is in line for production, but it seems there is a slight delay in the system. Hoping for a spring of 2017 release date, but I should know more next month. If you haven’t yet placed your order, please don’t hesitate.  In the meantime, keep following our facebook page for up to date info.
