Hey, readers!

This is unexpected, but I wanted to give a big thanks to Elena Stofle for making Detective Diaries a Staff Pick! Of course, I give my thanks to those who have ordered already, and the encouragement is well received! I hope to impress, so thanks once again! Also, I want to mention that I’m interested in the upcoming competition: 2016 Launch Pad Manuscript. The competition seems like a good way to expose myself and potentially learn quite a bit from entering. I’ll update you guys about that when Detective Sunday comes around. Remember, spread the word and order if you haven’t, but also good luck in all your future endeavors.

Until next time, A.J.III.

Hello, readers and writers!

Welcome to our 11th Detective Sunday! I hope everyone is doing well, and likewise to any projects some of you are currently doing. The first week of the pre-ordering campaign isn’t where it is supposed to be at the moment, but that’s because this is a first-time experience. However, this whole week, I’ve been focusing on grabbing the attention of friendsfamily, and potential authors to assist with our numbers. As I look at other projects with a big number of followers and recommendations that are around the same time as myself, I recognize the problem. Still, that doesn’t mean I won’t achieve my goal. Big things can start small, so help SPREAD THE WORD and ORDER followers! Also, for those who are interested in being a patron and supporting my current project and those to come, I’ll leave a link to my account. Oh, last thing, if any of you know any good artists who are good at drawing characters or backgrounds, let me know. I plan to send a restricted amount of art rewards to those who order in the specific category of prices, but it isn’t a solid idea at the moment. Thanks for attending and reading.

  Hey readers!

How is everyone doing these days? Good I hope, because my days have been pretty relaxing as of late. Still, very soon, I’ll be loaded with responsibilities, and plus, I need to sharpen up Detective Diaries. In all honesty, I’ve written different versions of Detective Diaries about three times, and each time, I end up mixing plotlines together. While one version is much darker, the other is supernaturally unstable. I’m not entirely sure of the tone I was going for back then, but now, I’m just focusing on writing to the best of my ability and living up to my support. However, I wanted to make an update today covering the recent decision I made.

I decided to make a Patreon account, and whether or not it’s necessary will be decided in the future. Still, the perks for being a Patron over there can overshadow those who just regularly buy here. If you’re interested in continually supporting me now, and even for future titles I want to start up very soon, I guarantee that you should consider doing this. All payments made to me will apply to the book you want to purchase, and you’ll get the exact category of prices that you desire from Detective, Ward, or Arbiter. I’ll list the perks of the pledge prices and wrap this up.

Pledge $10 or more a month                                                                                                                               For the patreons who offer $10 a month, I will give you guys access to the drafts from a different version of Detective Diaries, and the current version. There is a Q&A every two weeks that you will be invited to join once I gain an ample amount of patreons, and I will add you guys on Google Hangout if you feel comfortable with speaking as a community about any ideas, silly thoughts, or just casual bonding.

Pledge $20 or more a month                                                                                                                               For the patreons who offer $20 a month, I will respectfully thank you guys for offering this amount by putting your names on all the official copies of my books to acknowledge your support. I will also try to send these individuals character art of the main or side characters. You may also recommend or request a specific character if you pay this amount.

Pledge $60 or more a month                                                                                                                               For the patreons who offer $60 a month, you will have the honor of working beside me on creating plotcharacterssettingconflict, you name it. These individuals can give whatever feedback necessary and contribute to the making of the book. We will work together and brainstorm to make the story smoother, and this way, I could also make connections with these individuals and even assist them in their desired work.

These prices are meant to reflect Inkshares’ book prices because I plan to stay here for quite a while. So, by being a patron, you can follow me on my journey through the many projects I start up here and even have the benefit of these perks and many others I’m sure that I will come up with. So, if interested, I’ll leave a link below. Also, please SHARE my book on social media, with your followers, or whoever else you feel would be motivated to order. I hope to deliver!

  Hey, readers.

Welcome to our 10th Detective Sunday and the start of our pre-ordering campaign! It’s been about over 10 weeks since I started Inkshares, and by being here, I feel like I can accomplish my goals with the right connections and effort. So, I’d love it if you guys ordered or nudged a friend and told him/her about my book to see if they are interested. I could ramble on and on, but I’ll just say that my goal for now is reaching 250 orders. I wasn’t entirely sure about the amount of time I would need, but I decided that 90 days would do. I’ll continue to keep these updates coming and come up with new ways of perfecting the project. This project has a loooong road ahead of it, and I’ll just slowly make it better step by step. Oh, I almost forgot the mention that Chapter Four: Society (Edited Version) has been up for about some minutes, so check that out if you want to see the big changes in dialogue and information. Enjoy your evening or morning wherever you are, and remember to show support!

  Until next time, A.J.III.

  Hey again, readers,

Chapter Three: Theory (Edited Version) is now up and ready. This chapter follows close to the original in the beginning, but the other half deviates in terms of dialogue and characterization. Hopefully, you all enjoy. Next week will be the last edited version I will release.

  Until next time, A.J.III.

  Hey readers,

Welcome to our 9th Detective Sunday. I must say, we’ve come a long way with these Sunday updates, and the next will be the start of the pre-ordering stage. I have my mind set on starting off next Sunday, just after I release the next edited chapter. Speaking of edited chapters, Chapter Three: Theory (Edited Version) will be out later on today, and I will do a short update for that when I have everything finished for it. Now, I said I would do something particularly new for the book every Sunday, so this Sunday I will do small background touches on the main characters and potential side characters that I feel contributes tremendously to the plot.

  Main Characters:

Amani Marshall: Daughter of Maxwell Marshall--The Owl, which is a nickname he gained from his clients such as the Detective Agency or Police Department when they wanted information on the latest underground developments in the city of Rochester. Amani is a talented 26-years-old bronze skinned young lady, who became an unranked officer at the age of 20. She moved up in the ranks over the years from stopping lethal criminals before they have even acted because she was always one step ahead of them. The year she was accused of being the Bone Breaker, she was a Chief Inspector--almost along the lines of being a Deputy Director over a deeper portion of officers than she already had. Now, Amani pursues the Bone Breaker in hopes of bringing him to justice after being imprisoned for three years. She has a year to clear her name as the Detective Agency watches over her activity closely.

Carbine: Carbine is a 27-year-old detective who has been in his line of work for 6 years. In the past, Carbine was found as an orphan at the age of 15 and taken care of by his future partner, Flora Lamont at the age of 20. She became a mother figure to him and his education source for knowledge, for Carbine suffered from amnesia and needed proper training of basic things. At the time that Flora was 20, the Detective Agency had just been created and she was one of the first generation of detectives to lead against criminal activity. Carbine was inspired by her influence and the speeches she spoke in front of people in one of the many squares about the violence in Rochester. She became a symbol of justice, and a martyr at her death. Carbine now carries on her will to peace, no matter how silly it may seem. He wouldn’t allow himself to sit down and do nothing for the rest of his years.

Lisa Elohim: Lisa is a 25-year-old woman who comes from a long line of nobles that had strong ties with Udon Heathcliff--king of Rochester 30 years back when it was a republic system, but now it is a democracy, and her family governs the system of trade in and out of the city. At a young age, Lisa was haunted by nightmares of death, but in reality, they were visions of those to die in the future. Even though she knew of the assassinations and unexpected illnesses against her family members, she couldn’t stop the inevitable. She spent her years in frantic slumbers or comas that lasted for weeks and even months as she witnessed deaths of those close to her. When of age, the only members of her family left was her younger brother and uncle. However, her uncle’s death came and her brother’s kidnapping shortly after by the hands of the Masked Monopoly--a group of aristocrats that specializes in assassinations against rival companies or bodies housing money. At that time, she vowed to find her brother and bring them to justice for murdering countless nobles. She employed by the Detective Agency at the age of 19 and has been searching since then. From the story perspective, she has stumbled upon a recent disappearance of Lucy Wright, a young noble girl who suddenly went missing a few days ago. She believes Masked Monopoly is behind it.

Jerry Walker: Jerry is a 27-year-old man who originally lived on the country-side. His parents was promised a life-long dream job to cover the expensive housing in Rochester, and by agreeing to the contract given to them by suited men, they were pulled into the Medallion--a mafia group that works to maintain the drug market and the power balance in the city. Jerry’s family needed the money in order to pay for medicine for their sick members, and in order to move to a more safer and reserved location. Jerry and his father, Jonah Walker, worked day in and day out by smuggling drugs in and out the city and doing roundabout aggressive "visits" to non-paying customers. Jerry’s family merely wanted enough money to cover everything, so when they had enough when he was 15, they decided to escape the city and leave behind Medallion for good. However, they couldn’t escape their contract, and their plan was found out immediately. The charge for trying to leave Medallion while under a contract was death, and ultimately, his father, mother, and plagued little sister were murdered gruesomely as he watched. They decided to murder him last in order to witness the terror in his eyes, but he was saved by Fidel Brix and Zoe--two first generation detectives that have been following Medallion’s activity. He managed to survive that night and swore to find a way to gain revenge against his foes, but Fidel and Zoe locked him away from the world in order to have him reflect on the evil he committed while being with them. As a result, years past and he promised to become a detective like Fidel and Zoe to bring justice to those who wronged him and his family, but also help those whom fell into the same trap.

That’s all for this Sunday. Look forward to the next one!

  Until next time, A.J.III.

  Heya, readers.

Preeeetty late update, but I wanted to let you guys know that I have Chapter Two: Chemistry (Edited Version) up and ready for your eyes. As I said before, this chapter covers some insight on Olivia’s situation and even changes up some keys points in the chapter, such as the diary entry of Amani’s or the conversations between Amani and Carbine nearing the end. I hope you all enjoy, and please, show support by recommending or just commenting on your favorite part. Look forward to the next chapter very soon, possibly even tomorrow!

  Until next time, A.J.III.

  Hello, readers.

I’m glad I was able to this at least for the week. Welcome to our 8th Detective Sunday. I’m sorry for not upholding my end on the edited chapter that was supposed to come out this week. I’ve been very busy, and getting ready for a major shift in my life. I’m going off to college next weekend, and I just been spending time with family and friends before moving hours away, and also buying dorm stuff and considering getting a job to pay off things I might run into. However, I did stop to think about you guys, so I decided to edit both Chapter Two: Chemistry and Chapter Three: Theory for you guys next week. I’ll more than likely have them up in the middle of the week, so please excuse me for the late information. Also, I haven’t even went over what I was going to change for this Detective Sunday. I had planned to change up the synopsis or post something with a nice detail of background on the main/side characters so that people can get more invested in whoever they prefer in the story. I’ll let you guys know about that as well when the time comes. Now, enjoy your Sunday and I hope to get in contact soon.

  Until next time, A.J.III.

  Hey, readers!

Welcome to our 7th Detective Sunday. This week has been quite eventful for me. I’ve been volunteering, going out to our city’s festival, earning money, and much more. I hope all is well wherever you are, but let’s jump into this update.

Now, last Sunday, I had said that I would be bringing new things to the project, or updating specific things to improve the future pre-ordering campaign of my book. The new "thing" for this Detective Sunday is an updated book cover. It’s a very unique shift from the cover of the man with pictures peeling off his face, and I want to go in this direction with the owl because it needs to symbolize the "watching" nature of the detectives. They encounter mysteries during their job and have to watch/analyze the scene and bring together their evidence to pin-point the true criminals. However, it isn’t always the criminals who are causing havoc, for those close to us assist the destruction knowingly. That’s why I chose the owl. The detectives need to always be on alert with their eyes open to balance lies and truth. Besides that, the picture looks pretty colorful and unique for my tastes.

That’s the only new thing for this Detective Sunday. Look forward to Chapter Two: Chemistry(Edited Version) sometime soon next week. Also, I want to mention that I will be shining some light on Olivia on this edited chapter. So far, she’s only been mentioned by Amani, but she’ll get some characterization and you’ll see her importance to Maxwell Marshall’s death.

Have a good morning/afternoon wherever you are, and remember to spread the word and show support as you please.

  Until next time, A.J.III.

Hey, readers.

I’ll keep this update pretty short, but I uploaded Chapter One: The Ward(Edited Version) today! Go check it out and see a good portion of differences in the beginning and nearing the end. I hope you enjoy, and remember to show support if you like it!

Until next time, A.J.III.
