What’s the good word Pirates!!

Soooo, the Geek & Sundry contest is almost over! Honestly, I’m a bit relieved. Its been a fun, nail-biting experience for us in the trenches, and I’m looking forward to the next stage. Because of your support, we are #3!!! But, I’m not one to rest until its over, so here is my pitch:

For all those who have pre-ordered, THANK YOU! You are rock stars and we here at Team Pirates appreciate your support!!

For those on the fence, please help us get to and past QUILL!! We’re only a few copies away, and we’re so excited to meet this benchmark!

For everyone that buys today, SATURDAY MAY 14, we will donate 100% of our take to the American Cancer Society.

My mother died of cancer when I was 22.  I know she would have loved that Pirates of Montana exists today. This book, this story, exists because of her. #fcukcancer (not sure if Inkshares censures this sort of thing, so yes, it is misspelled ;-))

Anyway here is a hilarious meme to lighten the mood!

I just got an amazing email.

Thank you Kim!  You are the 200th unique reader!

You are awesome!! Thank you (and everyone!) for your support!!

Howdy Team Pirates!

I hope you had an amazing weekend!!

I just wanted to write to say, THANK YOU ALL for your ongoing support of the book. It means so much to me, my family, and my friends. Your interest, support, feedback, and your encouragement is the best part of this process, although I do love the writing part! Again, I thank you all. I feel beyond humbled.

I’ve posted Chapter 5, as I wanted to introduce you all to  Sean Oliphant. He is based on an old paleo boss of mine. 10 points to anyone who guesses who!

I’ll leave you with a reminder of, arguably, the most selfless act ever committed. Not really, but still.

Hello all!

A heartfelt THANK YOU to all who have supported The Pirates of Montana!! I’m going to release the next chapter on Monday, so stay tuned!!

The Geek & Sundry contest is almost done, so if you haven’t already, please consider pre-ordering the book!! I promise you will hug it and squeeze it and call it George!!

While its not May 4th any more, I felt that my love of all things Jane Austen and Sci-fi demanded that I post this:

May the Firth be with you

To mis-quote Whitman: "Our name is large, it contains multitudes."

(Though getting updates about "The Madness of Mister Butler" always makes me blink a couple times.)

Addendum! I’ve updated my name on my project page. When I entered the contest, there was already an author named Erin (check out Farm Boy- amazing!!), so I used my initials so we could avoid confusion. But frankly, I love my name, so it’s now in use.

May the 4th be with you!

I hope you were able to spend today with that special nerd/geek in your life and celebrate one of the greatest Space Operas ever created. For me, it was hanging with this little guy (see picture below). My daughter flat out refused to be in the picture. Oh toddlers.

Dinosaurs, Calvin and Hobbs, Star Wars. It was a good day.

Lots happening on the book front!! We have a lot of new followers, and I want to say THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!! We really appreciate it! I think you’ll enjoy what’s coming next week!

The Warbler did a wonderful piece about the book. See it here: http://goo.gl/xXGtQf

One thought before I sign off.

Hemingway once said, "there is nothing to writing, just sit behind a typewriter and bleed." I’m starting to really understand that now.

My hat is off to every single author on this site. You are amazing.

Writing is hard. Invest in some good band-aides.

Great news!

The newest chapter of Pirates of Montana is up! Yay for Chapter 2!

Prologue and Chapter 1 also got some small edits!

Read from the beginning!  Or randomly pick a spot!

"Never get involved in a land war in Asia!"

"Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line"!

Have to love anyone who can say they have "[...]friends since our teenage paleontology days in Montana."

I may well steal that for introductions between people I barely know in real life.  8-)

What up Fishes!

(Your Hump Day humor)

We’ve been super busy here at POM central! Thanks to my amazing editors, POM has a really been coming along!

I’m also pleased to announce that my wonderful friend and artist, Sarah Montani, the inspiration for Lizzie, (whom you will meet this Friday-- Chapter 2 is coming!), has agreed to design a kick-ass cover for POM! I’m so excited to see what she’ll come up with.

I’m so fortunate that Sarah and I have remained friends since our teenage paleontology days in Montana.  I’m also fortunate that any acts of indecency or moments that should remain "in the Badlands" will always remain that way because she was a complicit accessory. And yes, I’ve destroyed all photographic evidence. At least I think I have...

A big THANK YOU to all who have pre-ordered the book!

If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, PLEASE DO!! Share, comment, and help me get this story out there!! Its been a joy to write, and I think anyone who loves dinosaurs, science, and geekdom with a touch of nerdiness  will love this story too!!

Live long and prosper, and remember, when life gives you questions, Google has answers.
