Greetings readers and followers of the Space Sloth!

The big news for today (or tonight, early morning?) is that the full first draft is done!  Right now it’s sitting around 77,000 words.

I don’t think that would have been possible without the push and support of having it on Inkshares.  So, thank you.

Right now I have a reviewer helping me with typos and grammar, and two reviewers are working through the draft to give feedback on the story and structure.  I’ll be getting things tightened up over the next couple weeks.

There are 51 days left to hit my Inkshares goals.  I’ll be sending out some new tidbits and Sloth related information over the coming weeks.  In the meantime, if you have ANY contacts who might be interested in a fun space opera adventure please recommend “Fortunes of the Space Sloth”.

Thanks!

Congratulations to the winners of the Space Opera Contest!  Our journeys must now part but the civilian space vessel Space Sloth continues its travels.

To kick things off for this next phase I thought I’d update my followers on some of the things that happen later in the story so you know 1) I’m actually still writing and 2)  you’re going to want to read the story to find out what happens.  Spoiler Alert.  Below is a list of draft titles for the first thirty chapters.  There are a few final chapters coming together that will be added to these, but we’ll leave those as a surprise.

What can you do to help the Space Sloth and her crew?  Right now I’m focusing on building  a follower base.  Any referrals or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Greetings again.  As we near the end of the Space Opera contest I hope you all have had a chance to look at some the books at the top of the competition.  There are some interesting ideas and good books on the list.

I wanted to make sure you all knew that “Fortunes of the Space Sloth” is not going away with the end of the contest.  There are 59 days left to reach the pre-order goal and the crew will be pushing on with their adventure.

Based on my progress this weekend I have high hopes that the full first draft will be completed by this time next week (unless the Space Sloth crew gets into some mess they haven’t told me about yet).  At that point I’ll be shifting to refining some parts of the narrative and really starting some outreach.  I hope you all stick around for the rest of the adventure.

And as always, I thank you for your support.

Welcome to the one month mark!  Yes, this marks the four week mark for Fortunes of the Space Sloth on Inkshares.  In honor of that I uploaded Chapter 4 and another Snippet last night.  Go have a look at them and let me know what you think.

We’re still building follower momentum slowly.  The creative momentum is outstanding though.  I’ve participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) several times.  My pace right now with Fortunes of the Space Sloth is faster than any of those efforts.  I’m having a lot of fun with it.  Hopefully you are too.

Keep following, recommending, pre-ordering, feedbacking...you know the drill.  Thanks for the support.

Followers of the Space Sloth,

In my full time job I’m a professor and this is Spring Break.  I was supposed to catch up on some grading today.  Yeah, not so much.  Instead I did do some writing and I updated my Inkshares page.

There is now a list of links which include the Wormhole videos and the book’s Facebook page.  But best of all, there is now a new promotional video for the book.  It came off a little darker than I intended but it’s a step in the right direction.

A little insight into the video, each image shown was specifically chosen because it relates to a portion of the story.

Keep following and spreading the word.  Feedback is always welcome.  Thanks for the support!

Greetings readers!

Just like other writers I’ve seen updates from, I’m never certain how many full chapters to upload.  Right now I’m still adding Snippets from chapters.  I just added a few lines from Chapters 7, 8, and 9.

The writing and editing is still going strong.  Got a little hung up on one of the later chapters but I think we are through that.  I’m hoping to wrap up the next part of their adventure this weekend so I can move on to a special piece I’ve been planning.  The characters are developing and growing as the story progresses and we learn more of their backstory.

There’s only one way to find out it all :)

Welcome new followers and readers!  Thank you for your support of “Fortunes of the Space Sloth”.  This marks three weeks we’ve been on Inkshares.  I’d love to get into the top twenty of the Space Opera Contest by the end of week four, but I’m going to need your help to do that.  Tell your friends about the story.  Recommendations and pre-orders are greatly appreciated.  Now on to something less serious…

As followers you are the first to learn of this discovery…

Sol System News has discovered that a video has recently been released from the Taoist University of Luna accreditation scandal.  Readers will remember that there were accusations of untrained faculty and improper teaching methods.  The court case resulted in several top administrators leaving TUL and a revamping of several programs there.  The video features Prof. Martin Hornblower and can be seen at https://youtu.be/hhgpZ-ST9DU

Hey everybody.  Thanks for following and pre-ordering Fortunes of the Space Sloth.

It was a productive weekend with thousands of words added to the story and several chapters proofed by my in-house editing staff (a.k.a. my wife).  I’m also happy to report that my production staff didn’t have school today and we were able to wrap Wormholes and Jump Point Physics.  It is now linked through the Inkshares site, so have a look.  There’s also a blooper reel that we’ll post on Facebook later.

I’ll post another chapter and some additional excerpts later this week.  Keep reading.  Send me some feedback.  And tell all of your reading friends about the story.  Thanks!

Thank you again for following "Fortunes of the Space Sloth".  The story is going well and I’ll be continuing posting occasional excerpts to wet your appetite.  I’ll also mention that there is a Facebook page devoted to the book.  I’m posting some updates but also sharing links to related information there.  Check it out at:

Our release of "Wormholes and Jump Point Physics" was delayed this week because my production crew was out sick with a cold.  It will be coming out soon though, and it looks like our staff has discovered an unreleased blooper real from the production.  We plan to release that later.

Thanks for reading.  If you are interested in what you have read so far please share your enthusiasm with your friends, family, and enemies.  Really, anyone who can Like, Follow, or Pre-Order.  We’re not that picky here on the Space Sloth.

Greetings!

This marks the one week point of having Fortunes of the Space Sloth on Inkshares. It’s been very exciting so far and it’s great to see new people following the story’s progress. There are many great books being pitched on the site and I appreciate you taking a moment to look at mine. Now, on to the not so serious…

Our production team is working diligently on a new release of the “Wormholes and Jump Point Physics” episode from the Wiki-Teacher series. Originally produced by the Taoist University of Luna with commentator Professor Martin Hornblower, the episode has been expanded with close captioned comments provided by Sebastian Rogers, Captain of the Space Sloth. Expect to see this released soon.

We will also be providing for your use the TSA (that’s Terran Space Authority) guide to “Recognizing and Treating Space Madness”. You’ll definitely want to have this handy if you are planning a long space voyage in the future (or any long road trip with small children and pets).
