Dear Readers,

Yeah...I messed up. I said I was going to load chapter 5 yesterday and it didn’t happen. That’s what I get for having a job IRL (other that this novel). :(

Give me maybe 15 minutes and I’ll have it up for you all. Thanks for your patience!

Dear Readers,

We’re doing so well, y’all! I mean, we’re doing so well that my Southern accent is coming out in my typing. That’s something.

One thing that has been a wonderfully rewarding experience with Inkshares is the community of authors and readers that I have found. I’m typically very shy around new people and new communities and numerous Inkshares authors have reached out and grabbed me with digital hugs and so much support. While we’re no where close to done with this campaign, I want to acknowledge all of those who have helped keep Lucky visible over the past several weeks.

I want to make a shout out to Elayna Mae Darcy, whose wonderfully snarky blog post has made my day. You can read it here: http://elaynamusings.com/2016/03/02/women-slaying-at-scifi/ Please check it out and check out Elayna’s novel here: https://www.inkshares.com/books/they-are-the-last-7039?referral_code=c497ffef She’s had the flu the past few days so maybe think some healthy vibes her way as well.

And now for the big news (drumroll please): A new chapter is coming this afternoon! Yes, you heard me. I’ve been resistant to uploading all of my currently written chapters to Inkshares before the end of the campaign, but one consistent comment I receive is "I want to read more!" So you’ll get more this afternoon.

We’re this close to our goal. This close, folks. If you’ve preordered a copy, thank you. Now, convince your neighbor, your roommate, your cousin, or even your dentist to order a copy. We are half way to Quill and 18% to full publishing. If all of my readers convince just two other people to pick up a copy of Lucky by March 15 (bolded so you don’t forget!), we will make our goals and be set to go. Help me help everyone get the books you ordered!

Thanks again to you all!

Dear Readers,

This is just a brief mid-week update for you. As for the Nerdist Space Opera contest, Lucky is still hanging on in the Top Ten on the leaderboard. We have about 14 days left, so I would love to see a lot more orders coming in. Even if we miss the mark with the contest, we’re over halfway to Quill (250 copies and a light publishing deal). Now is not the time to fall asleep on this project!

I’m doing some basic edits on Chapter 5 so I can upload it either tomorrow or Friday of this week! I have seen such positive feedback from the other four chapters already on the Inkshares page that I want to share a little more with you all. Stay tuned!

Let’s also connect and share via social media! I’m @RH_Webster on Twitter and RHWebster.ScienceFiction on Facebook (www.facebook.com/RHWebster.ScienceFiction).

As always, my readers and supporters are the only people who are making this campaign possible! I thank you from the bottom of my heart!

It’s Super Tuesday in the United States and I would highly encourage everyone who is able to take a long lunch break, go to your polling place, cast your vote, and then go eat a delicious cheeseburger (or your comfort food of choice). Once having eaten the cheeseburger, come back to Inkshares and let’s discuss something more fun - editing! I am setting aside Tuesday evenings to be Editing Days, in which I find a local coffee shop (with donuts), I camp out, and I work on making Lucky the best that she can be. What are your thoughts? What would make you back this project without hesitation, if you haven’t already? Feel free to reach out and connect and to share with your friends, your family, maybe even random folks on the street:

Hope to hear from you!

Every four years, you get an extra day in February. Do something good with your extra 24 hours and support LUCKY’s campaign on Inkshares. Purchase if you can, maybe leave some comments and reviews. Even feel free to message me via my author page on Facebook with any questions, concerns, comments or just to say hi!

Dear Readers,

I am happy to say that we are doing VERY well - this week saw a decent jump in pre-orders and LUCKY’s location on the Nerdist Space Opera contest position. As of this update, she’s sitting at #3 and praying for a lucky break (sorry, I couldn’t resist!) to stay in the top three until March 16.

Of interest this week: LUCKY and I were featured on the Inkshares blog as part of the top ten authors. The link is here: http://blog.inkshares.com/post/139990528800/what-inspires-the-top-contestants-in-the-nerdist Check it out!

Unfortunately I still haven’t fixed the chapter order issue yet. My real-life job kept me swamped ALL WEEK and I have house guests until Monday. I’ll get there, but feel free to still leave feedback. I love hearing from y’all and I read each comment carefully.

Stay tuned for more updates coming hopefully early next week! Please continue to share LUCKY around with your friends, families, random strangers...you know the drill. Sharing is caring, my friends!

Dear Readers,

As the weekend ends and we face yet another Monday, I have uploaded Chapter 4. I hope it soothes the transition from weekend to weekday for you all.

It’s come to my attention that the chapters are not in order on my project page. I am still not sure how to fix this, but until I fix it, each chapter is numbered to help with confusion. I’ll probably have to take them all down and upload them again or something...not sure yet, but I’m working on it.

Your support, your reviews, your comments are appreciated so very, very much. Please, keep them coming! I’m currently working on edits throughout the first half of the book (that’s right, you’re looking at some first draft bits), so everything that I’m seeing is helping a lot.

If you haven’t yet, trot over to my author page on Facebook: facebook.com/RHWebster.ScienceFiction. Share it, share the novel, share the posts...sharing is caring, my friends.

Take care, all of you.

Dear Readers,

We are still doing well. Pre-orders continue to arrive steadily but I am counting on each of you to help getting the word out. If you’ve got a friend, cousin, brother, roommate, hamster (okay, maybe not hamster) that you think might enjoy a new space opera novel, please point them to this page. Since I’m a part of the Nerdist Space Opera contest, my timeline is a bit tighter than most campaigns. I would love to see 250+ pre-orders by March 14. My dear readers and followers, you are the force that can make this happen.

In the news, I have created a new "official" author Facebook page that I’ll also be using to update anyone following this novel as well as future novels. That’s right, folks, I have two more drafts waiting in the wings and a whole army of Plot Bunnies ready to be released upon the world. You can find that page here: www.facebook.com/RHWebster.ScienceFiction. Feel free to share it around and leave comments and questions there as well.

Also, I have been featured on The Warbler as well as a part of the Nerdist Space Opera contest. You can see the write-up there: http://www.thewarblerbooks.com/featured-author-rh-webster/

As always my readers and followers, thank you for your support and thank you for believing in both myself and Lucky. Together, we’ll make this happen!

My readers,

We are creeping closer and closer and closer...to the three digit numbers.

How about this? When we reach 300 pre-orders, I’ll share Chapter 4. Chapter 4 is fun and is when the adventure starts to crank up.

Please help us all get there by sharing and sharing and sharing and sharing and sharing...you get the idea.

Again, my most sincere gratitude to all of you for your support and your kind words.

- Webster

Dear Readers,

WOW. The outpouring of support that I have seen in the past eight days has been truly overwhelming. I feel blessed beyond the scope of words.

I have uploaded a short chapter three to say thank you. It’s now featured on my project page. This is the chapter where you the reader get to take your first glimpse at our titular character, Miss Cassandra "Lucky" Luckenbach herself. I hope you enjoy!

My first draft is complete and awaiting editing as soon as we finish funding. Please help me to continue to share the word about Lucky so that she can see the light of day!

Again, my most sincere thanks to you all. Happy reading, happy writing!

Yours,

Webster
