My dear Lucky Readers,

We have a big month coming up. Lucky has 28 days left to fund and is behind 420+ copies. Now is the time to buy an extra copy for your local library or for your niece. Now is the time to convince your neighbor that they want to jump on the wagon. Now is the time to make this dream a reality. Think of it this way: this is a campaign that your vote can actually influence!

Also, trot over to my new project Children of the Teller (www.inkshares.com/books/children-of-the-teller) and give it a gander. I have entered it into the Inkshares/Geek & Sundry Fantasy contest that runs until November 1. Fun fact: Children of the Teller was to be my NaNoWriMo 2016 project and NaNoWriMo 2016 starts November 1. One simply can’t plan perfect timing like this.

To help support Teller, I have recently posted an update about the opportunity for readers to add their input to the novel. Check it out on my novel page.

As always, I welcome your feedback. I’m on Twitter, Facebook and Wordpress. Let me know what you’re thinking about!

Hi, Lucky Readers,

Good news today, I am beginning to sell preorders for Allegra as part of the Inkshares/Geek & Sundry Fantasy contest. The title of the novel has shift and it is now called Children of the Teller. I hope you will continue to support and follow this novel over the next several weeks. Stay tuned for updates as I have some schemes up my sleeve to make this contest more exciting! You can find Children of the Teller here: https://www.inkshares.com/books/children-of-the-teller

Happy reading!

Followers, Readers, Supporters...lend me your eyeballs. I come not to bury Caesar, but to praise his salad.

No, but for real, y’all - I’m back and I’m catching up and ABOVE EVERYTHING ELSE your continued support for Lucky means so much. Lucky has 34 days left to fund on Inkshares and is 400+ copies short of our goal. This is the time for us to all band together and get the word out about this new book hitting the shelves. Look at it this way: The faster we finish funding, the faster this book will get to the printers and end up in your hands.

If you have any questions, any hesitations about pre-ordering, please contact me and allow me to address your concerns. I want you to feel as much at home with supporting a campaign like this that you can.

One million thanks to all of you!

Hi, my faithful and wonderful Readers,

I am happy to announce that my lengthy silence is (hopefully) over! The past few weeks have been a tumult of real life, depression, anxiety, and installing new book cases in my house! The new book cases are wonderful...the other stuff wasn’t so wonderful. Here’s a picture of the new book cases to cheer us all up. ...

In other, more exciting news: I have finished my first rewrite for Chapter 13 of Lucky! I’m pretty excited and I think the new writing is going to be fun for everyone to read. It involves - get this - pet rocks. Yes, I said it. Pet rocks! And in space!

It also opens the door for me to flesh out a few of the secondary characters in the novel and bring them more into the spotlight than they have been previously. I even gave one of them the wonderful name of Giovanna Marino. So that was fun.

There’s a bit of a downside, though. I had, with the help of a beta reader (or seven), discovered that I have a MAGNIFICENT AND LARGE (read that in an epic booming voice) plot hole in the middle of my book. This new Chapter 13 helps fill that MAGNIFICENT AND LARGE plot hole...but also makes necessary the creation of all new Chapters 14, 15, 16 and maybe 17. What is currently number Chapters 14, 15, 16 and maybe 17 will become probably Chapters 18, 19, 20 and 21, etc. The MAGNIFICENT AND LARGE plot hole will be filled, there shall be more of Lucky for all of you to enjoy, and I will grow more gray, crazy lady hairs as a result. It will all be wonderful fun and hopefully finished in the next two weeks-ish.

I’ll be tweeting updates out as well, so follow me on Twitter (@RH_Webster) and on Facebook (www.facebook.com/RHWebster.ScienceFiction) and on Wordpress (www.rhwebster.wordpress.com). I might even drop a few lines/paragraphs here and there for you to enjoy, so you’ll want to stay alert!

As ever, I cannot thank you enough for your continued support! Instead I’ll have another cup of coffee in your honor.

Readers,

Hi, y’all. Sorry for the lengthy silence and no updates anywhere. I was on vacation last week with my family and was unable to get to my computer for an update. I also spent a surprisingly large amount of time eating, sleeping, and then eating some more. I’ve included a picture so you can see I’m telling the truth.

Pictured: RH Webster on vacation

The few orders that have been trickling in recently are so appreciated, you guys. It warms my cold, cynical heart to see your support. We have a few more months to go, but if we were to hit our 750 orders before then we’d be able to publish that much faster! I know you’re as excited as I am to see this little draft of mine become a published book that you can put on your bookshelf. Remember, tell your family, your friends, the barista who makes your coffee at Starbucks...everyone. Working together is the only way we can make this dream a reality!

I’m working on the draft and my blog (www.rhwebster.wordpress.com) as much as I can right now, but I’m back to my real-life job this week too (everyone needs a paycheck and I’m not famous yet). In the meantime, thanks for your patience (and maybe think some happy vibes for my sanity).

A thousand thanks to you all,

- Webster

Readers!

Major update today! I am beyond honored that LUCKY has been chosen as the May pick for the Write Out Loud Syndicate on Inkshares

A thousand thanks to Ricardo Henriquez for the support and kind words:"RH Webster is a longtime supporter of LGBTQ rights and also a great writer. Lucky is not only a story of a group of misfits, but it is a story of diversity and hope. I hope everybody enjoys it."

This seems to have been a magical few weeks - the order number has jumped significantly, we’ve gotten a new syndicate badge, we have so many new followers! Thank you all for you support so far on this project! Keep up the support and we will get to 750 orders before you know it!

- Webster

PS: Sorry to be a pain, but I totally forgot to mention in my first update today that I reconfigured the chapters that are available on the Inkshares page. They should be in order now. If you happen to check the page and see that they’re not, would you mind letting me know? Either comment on this update or tweet to me @RH_Webster.

Thanks again, all of you.

Hi, Lucky Readers,

Wow you guys! What an amazing spike in support in the past couple of days. We are even the tiniest smidgen ahead of the "ideal" pre-order rate suggested by Inkshares.

I have written an entire novel but I feel at a loss to properly express my gratitude to all of you who have purchased a copy of this novel and are helping make it such a success. Most sincerely, thank you all.

If you’re on the fence about ordering a copy for yourself, check out some of the reviews on the project page. So many smart people can’t be wrong, right?

(pictured: being on the fence)

Keep up the sharing and keep up the support! As added incentive, when we get to 325 copies sold, I will update the excerpts and share some of the new material I am working on for the middle of the novel (hint hint).

Happy reading!

- Webster

Readers,

Lucky is trucking along. We’ve picked up several new sales over the past couple of days and I’m happy to say it looks like life is picking up all around! I’ll be spending the evening continuing to edit and polish.

My latest blog post is up and is on time this week! You can check it out here: https://rhwebster.wordpress.com/2016/05/03/sub-genres-of-sf-time-travel/ I hope you enjoy!

Readers,

Big, BIG news today! We got a funding extension for Lucky, which means we have two more months to reach our goal of 750 copies ordered!

What does it mean if we get 750 copies? This:
  • full editing
  • design
  • printing
  • distribution to booksellers like Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and numerous independent book stores around the country
  • marketing
  • TV and movie tie in rights
This is what I have been dreaming about and working towards since I was a teenager and first started writing stories. This is the dream that you are helping to bring to life with your support and your purchases. And this is the dream that we got an extension on making a reality.

If you haven’t yet purchased a copy, please consider doing so. If you haven’t shared this novel with your friends and family and coworkers and the deli lady who makes your sandwiches, please do so as soon as you can. To make the goal in time, we need to sell about 8 copies a day between now and the first of July. Let’s make this a reality and put a new book on the bookshelves!

A thousand thousand thanks to you all,

- Webster
