Hey everyone! I just wanted to let you know that my silence on the project hasn’t been accidental. Well, that’s not entirely true either and just sounds bad. One reason that I’ve been quiet is that I’ve been hard at work finishing up the second draft of Impervious. I’m having a pretty awesome month so far and have finished off several chapters that have had me stumped since last year.

Another reason that I’ve been keeping quiet is that I intend to be involved in the Geek and Sundry / Nerdist contest that applies to Impervious. Since you can’t start your campaign until the flag goes up on the contest, I’m holding back and patiently biding my time. Because I mean to compete, and I mean to win. The next contest starts on June 1, but we won’t know the genre for another couple days yet. Maybe it’ll be Fantasy, maybe it won’t. If it is, I’ll hit the ground running on June 1. If it isn’t, then...well, we’ll all be waiting to kick this thing into high gear.

Rest assured, I haven’t forgotten you. I’m working hard on Impervious and this draft is shaping up nicely. I’ve got another 40,000 words that I plan on writing by the end of June and that should finish the draft. Then, more revising, editing, revising, crying, stress eating, editing and revising until this thing is done. Then I’ll do it all over again with book two. Yay ;. Until then, keep reading and keep writing.

Testing...Testing... Ahem.

I know that I’ve been pretty quiet here, mostly just sneaking around Inkshares, finding interesting books and interesting people to stal... I mean, follow.  I wanted to get a feel for the platform, see what other successful authors are doing and get prepared before I launched the campaign for Impervious.  From what I’ve seen, so far, successful authors put a lot of work into their campaigns: regular updates, bonus snippets, videos, lots of social media effort and constantly staying in contact with their followers, keeping them excited for the project.

Better, I thought, to watch and learn before I jumped into the deep end and tried to swim.  My goal, is to get involved in the next big contest that comes up for Fantasy novels, since Nerdist is going to be running one soon.  It’ll make for some good exposure, plus it’ll be exciting to compete against some of the other great talent on Inkshares.  I will be starting my campaign pretty soon, just so I can get a head start on getting some sales before the contest begins, but there’s a few things I want to get in order: Gotta spice up my blog, prepare some bonus content, clean up and post a few more chapters and so on and so forth.

You will be hearing more from me, and more about Impervious in the coming weeks. My period of learning is over, now it’s time for me to get busy! Thanks everyone for following and spreading the word. I’m excited to make Impervious an actual real book. And now, I must get back to work. Away!

Thanks to everyone who’s followed! I’m getting closer to the end of the second draft. I think when I finish that I"ll officially launch the campaign for Impervious. The more people I have waiting on that, the faster I’ll probably right, so share it around!

I’ve wondered about that myself. It’s something I would like to explore in the future, probably the far future. I’m interested to see how you do with this idea.
