Sweet, how exciting!  Thank you so much!

Glad to see your day is going so well, and hopefully one day you can have another owl-themed novel in your possession. ;)

We did it!  We hit 30 readers!  Plus I just got my proof copy of Shadow of the Owl in the mail, so I could show it off!  This is a REALLY good day ya'll.

So let's get to the rafflin'!

Congrats to (online dice roll because there's no D30 in this house) Michael Sebby!  You're the winner of our Giveaway Round Three (I really should come up with a name for this thing.)! You've just won yourself a signed copy of Shadow of the Owl, the sexy beast shown up there.

The next giveaway is at 40 readers, and I'm thinking I'll do something special at 50.  When I taught English the kids always asked for one thing:  A pizza party.  Well, let's see if we can't come up with our own pizza party.  I already have some ideas, but if you want to share your own, feel free.

For now, I have to run to Day Job, but I'll check back in with you all soon!

*High Fives all Around*

We're number 2!  I'm over the moon! I recorded it for posterity because this is a momentous occasion.  I want to stay number 2 for the next month, but I know too much is in flux in this sort of contest, so I'm going to enjoy this present moment and let it energize me for the weeks ahead.

We are only three orders away from the next round of the Shadow of the Owl giveaway.  I would love to do another raffle today.  Can we get there?  Let's do this!

Just wanted to let you know I've added three character sketches to the About section on the DHM main page.  Let me know what you think of our three main characters: Isidore, Daxas, and the Abess.

Hi guys,

First things first: We're in THIRD PLACE!  OMG man, I'm so jazzed about that.  I love being able to say that even for a brief moment, DHM was winning this here contest.  There's still a month to go, and a lot can happen in 40 days, but for now, we're there!

Okay, I'm about to head back into the world of DHM, but I wanted to share some inspiration images that I've found that describe the feel of the book. Now, these aren't mine, they are from artists on Deviantart, but they give you a better idea of what DHM is about.  First up is a hacker:
This is part of a painting called "Hostile Takeover" by Omen2501, and it does a great job of illustrating the sort of hacking gear Isidore RAM might be dealing with -- well, minus the pool of water (probably?).  I dunno, water might be an interesting medium for an interface. Hmmm...I'm going to need to think more on that.

Secondly is the racing mech:

This awesome concept was created by muzzoid on Deviantart. When Isidore heads into the world to investigate the mystery she stumbles on in the Grid, she gets caught up in a mech gang headquartered in the Tustin blimp hangers.  Granted, by this time Tustin is beachfront property, so that's a little different.

In any case, this is the sort of story I'm writing, and I hope it gets you excited to read it!  Now off to get some writing done so you CAN read it!

We hit 20 preorders!

Thanks so much ladies and gents!  Now I get to do another book giveaway!  Congrats to..(online die roll this time because I am limited on time)
Joseph Asphahani!  You get a signed copy of Shadow of the Owl!

The next giveaway is at 30 readers, so again, tell your friends so that you have another chance to get a copy of the book!

What a great way to start a Monday!

Cheers,
Amanda

I wasn't going to update until we reached ten readers...and then we did!

So that means I get to raffle off the first signed copy of Shadow of the Owl.

Drum roll please...Or rather dice roll.  This is how we make decisions in the Orneck household.  Congrats to number 10, which is Rubydewey!  You'll get the first signed copy of SotO. But the great thing about this contest is that I will be raffling off again at 20, which means that those that ordered early get the most attempts to win the prize.  Super cool, right?

Remember to share Deus Hex Machina with your friends so you have more chances to win!  As we get further along, I'll probably be upping the stakes, and maybe refreshing the contest as we start handing out the prizes.

Cheers!

Amanda

Announcing the Deus Hex Machina preorder contest!

For every ten preorders, I will raffle off a signed copy of my fantasy novel, Shadow of the Owl!  We are one away from reaching our first raffle, so share with your friends!

Thanks to everyone who has already shown support for the project.  It means so much that my fellows writers, my friends and my family think enough of the book to vote with their dollar.

Have a great evening!
Amanda
