Dave - Sadie definitely qualifies for "light edit" under the new guidelines. I'm thinking of the "light edit" as a fallback if 1,000 pre-orders aren't reached. Although you make a good point. That may be all Sadie needs. I'm curious how much additional support there will be with marketing and promotions if the 1,000 threshold is reached.

Hey Mary - do you qualify for the "light edit" option? If so, that would be a great way to go, considering there's not going to be a ton of text to edit in the first place!

From a purely practical standpoint, I'd say with the 1000/$10. With the change in the incentive structure, buyers of your book can still get it for "free" with credits ($5 for joining, $5 for reviewing), or if they don't want to review, then get it for $4.99. The alternative is fewer copies, but each buyer is now forking out at least 20, maybe 25 bucks, instead of free, maybe 5. My 2c

Sadie Fans,

I need your input! Inkshares just announced a change in their funding model taking place at the end of October.

The current requirement for publication of "Sadie McGrady, Leading Lady" is 1,000 pre-ordered copies at $10 each with a limit of 10 copies per customer during the crowd funding phase (ends 12/25/15). We have sold 330 copies as of today, thanks to you!

The new funding model will lower the required number of pre-ordered copies to 750 (a nice reduction) but will raise the price of the picture book to $30 per copy going forward (orders already placed would remain locked in at $10).

Because our "Sadie McGrady, Leading Lady" project was already underway when this funding goal decision was made, I can opt to stay with the original $10/1,000 pre-order goal or move to the new $30/750 pre-order goal for orders placed after October 30, 2015.

Since we're crowd funding this picture book, crowd sourcing this decision among Sadie's dedicated supporters is a must. What is your opinion? E-mail your thoughts or leave a comment on Sadie's Facebook page ASAP. I'll announce the decision soon. Either way, we're dedicated to reaching our goal and getting "Sadie McGrady, Leading Lady" into the hands of today's girls and tomorrow's leaders!

Oh, and I, for one, really want to hear the candidate's views on Guinea Pig rights. A carrot in every bowl? Is Timothy hay a fundamental right? These questions need answering!
