I’m out of my head thrilled to share Susie Kirkwood’s cover design for SINGLE VERSION. I’ve suddenly reached new levels of excitement about this book.
I mean...look at this gorgeous thing.
I hope you're happy. I'm happy.
SINGLE VERSION hit 500 readers in this last week of funding. 500 readers. That really floors me. It's looking like I'm probably not going to hit 750 copies, I really thought that I would and I could but I kinda hit a plateau. But that's ok, truly. It's hard to sell things. And 616 copies to 500 readers feels pretty great.
500. 500 people bought my book. I really can't thank you all enough.
Maybe, just maybe, there will be a mad surge in these last two days. Maybe everyone who's following the project--but has not yet bought a copy--will buy two copies (that would nearly get me there, actually!)....honestly, though, if you've been following SINGLE VERSION but have not yet bought yourself a copy, I hope you'll jump in here at the end.
This whole Inkshares experience has been thrilling, maddening, wonderful, frustrating, inspiring. And fun. It's really been a lot of fun. I'm humbled by the support you've all shown for the book, and I'm so excited to bring it to you. Now the pressure's on to make the book as good as it can be in the editing process.
And I'll really try to be better about updates in the coming months. I've been out of commission.
Tonight, I sleep. Tomorrow, I write! (Oh, actually, my brother's coming to town.) Sunday, I write!!!

Hi friends, readers, friendly readers, readerly friends, I hope everyone is having a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
Oh. Are you talking to me?
I am talking to you, yes. And I'm sorry to bug you. (Bug you. Every time I use that phrase lately I feel like I'm making a pun on my own book. THAT'S BECAUSE I AM. Sorry, sorry. I'm shouting now. And you want to get back to your Sunday. I'll make this quick.)
Hit a bit of a plateau this week in terms of new orders. No reason to panic, as SINGLE VERSION is well over the new Inkshares light-publishing goal. So, everyone who has ordered the book will get the book, and that makes me very happy. I'm thrilled to be getting the book out there and to be working with the Inkshares team.
Regardless, I'm hopeful that SINGLE VERSION can hit the 750 mark in this last week of funding. If we can sell 140 more copies, the book will get the full Inkshares editorial and production treatment, and I'll get to fly out to sign every pre-ordered copy. I really, really want to do that.
That's the goal, but I can't do it on my own. Please help get SINGLE VERSION to 750. Share. Suggest. Recommend. Every click helps.
140 copies to go. 1 week to go. That's 20 copies a day. Funding ends 11/15...then I CAN STOP SHOUTING, and the fun part begins.
Thank you for your continued support.

SINGLE VERSION hit 600 orders today! 150 to go. Just 2 more days to order for $9.99 before the price increases!
Meanwhile, an unmanned military blimp came unhitched today and floated eerily from Maryland to northern Pennsylvania through the gloom and rain, at low altitude, dragging its mooring cables and taking out power lines as it went.
And I thought my book was weird...

The schedule got pushed a little, we did one more round of edits than was originally planned on, so instead of August we’re now actually looking at a mid-September publish date.
So my dystopian cockroach-infested anxiety-laced America-as-hellscape sci-fi horror story will still be out before...you know...the election. Who are you voting for, Emil?
Ok, ok, calm down. Forget I asked. (I know, never bring up politics at work.)
