Sheila, thank you so much for your astute insights and your on-going support of the education of our leaders for tomorrow, the youth of today--and for my focus of Wild Conviction. Yes, as you know, this is a thoughtful, highly-researched historical fiction story, but, the magical realism and fantasy elements of, for example, particular word choices move it to the borders and into the realm of historical fantasy.

I love the genre of historical fantasy as well which allows the reader and writer to imagine the world as it should be but perhaps not always what it was or will be.

I agree wholeheartedly with these comments, and I feel the choice to write from a young woman’s perspective who has a real desire to end the institution of slavery makes this story even more compelling.

Wild Conviction guides the reader into realms of the unchangeable cruelty in others and the self-realization and determination to lead with personal empowerment.

I agree Marietta. The book and its characters are compelling and shed light on the social problems of racism today.
