Hi, I’m Brennan Jolls, and I just recently heard about Inkshares’ collaboration with Nerdist. I love video games, I’m an aspiring author, and so I just had to participate in the competition. The basis for my story was an amalgamation of different sources of inspiration, like anime and other books I’ve read, but the biggest three sources, I’d have to say, were Pendragon: The Reality Bug, Sword Art Online, and Grimgar of Fantasy and Ash. The idea was to create a world in which reality and VR are blended into something that nobody wants to leave. I want it to feel real, while also being something that could happen. This is my first foray into the Science Fiction genre of writing, but I want my depiction of the sensation one might experience to be concise and relatable. I hope you guys enjoy!
