I wanted to tell a story from a different perspective. I wanted to write about humans and how weird we are within a new circumstance.

I was inspired by reading other YA Dystopian fiction and being disappointed by an a amazing potential world that was built, but not explored deeply enough. I was reading the "Matched" series and kept asking myself "What happens with gay people? Do they not exist here?" "How does the process work?" "Why are we so focused on the love triangle? Can that stop?" as well as a lack of representation.

My main character is asexual and a lesbian, not something you see a lot. If focuses on friendship over romance. I want to bring it to fruition, and I hope you do, too.
