What would happen if a Fortune 500 Company built a 120 Million dollar facility and put it all in the hands of a bunch of new hires? Those new hires are responsible for running the facility, making all of the decisions, manage themselves and create all of the rules.

Will it work? Will they run the facility into the ground?

Believe it or not, this exact thing did indeed happen. I was there to witness it. The employees were multi-skilled. The facility operated under a self directed team concept. There were no "on shift supervisors". I will tell you all about how good or bad things went - Including:

- Details about how the team concept was implemented.

- Outcomes and observations on how well the team concept worked.

- Multi skilled? Yes, people held multiple positions at once.

- What happens over time as things change?

- Who were these new hires that ran this facility?

Who is this book for?

-Anyone that want to read a good story.
This book is written in an easy to read story format of my experience with "The Company". Sometime serious, sometime humorous, but all of it interesting.

-Anyone interested n managing and working in teams.
While this book is told in a story format, it also details a lot of the team training and implementation. This book can be used as a guide to anyone implementing teams into their workforce.

-Anyone interested in long term result of full on self directed teams in the workforce.
I worked for this company for 16 years, from the very start till the very end. its basically a 16 year study on the subject.
