Reign of Darkness...Is a title-in-progress, to be honest. I originally titled the tale, The Storyteller, but every time I would refer to it, my face couldn’t help but grimace. So, I changed it. And, I still don’t like it, but now I’m simply dealing with an eye twitch.

How this started:

I’ve been working on this story for what seems like a lifetime. It actually started from a tale that I told my little sister maybe a decade ago, before everyone had ipads, 3G, and netflix. She was only four at the time, and my family thought, "What the hell, lets go drive to Florida!" I’m from Columbus, Ohio...we were a family of six stuck in a car for 17+ hours.

To keep my sister pre-occupied during the trip, I started telling her stories. At first it was just me coming up with bizarre answers to why trees grow so tall, what happens to the moon when it disappears or why the wind howls. Anything really just pre-occupy her and ultimately get her to sleep. However, I was enjoying it to much, and kids have such a great imagination.

It became one of those things that I would do with her her before bed or in the car on the way to school, and it transformed into this world that had dragons, genies, magic, heroes and adventures! For so long now I’ve been adding and reshaping this world where the stories are coming from, and I’m hoping that with a little support, I’ll be able to see the final pages to the tale completed.

Author Info:

You can call me JK. I am a student by day, a cook by night. I write therapeutically, as a way for me to escape from the drollness that is usually my constant companion. Until only recently, I didn’t realize that my writing could be shared and crowd sponsored. I’ve heard of self-publishing, but for someone in my position, I need incentive to continuously write and share. Therefore my excitement at being able to share my fantastical adventures is definitely about to make me erupt from the private bubble that I usually carry myself in.

Lastly and firstly, I’m from Ohio. I’m a big OSU supporter and will proudly claim that my veins have the unique ailment that plagues most Ohioans of bleeding scarlet and grey.

Confession: I am not a pro-writer. I love to write. I do it for fun. I take it seriously.

If you have any criticism, I’ll be more than happy to gobble it up with gusto! I love critics, they always have such great feedback, especially when its useful.

Enjoy my word vomit!

Love,

JK
