The book follows gamer, hacker, and college student April Washington. A straight A student with a secret live as an underground gamer in gaming events where hacking the system is not only allowed, it is mandatory. The young woman becomes a volunteer in a beta testing for a new mysterious game called Invitro and her simple dual life is turned upside down. Soon she is playing a game of high stakes where the prize is her life, and possibly the fate of humanity.
