What if magic and what we presently believe to be mythological creatures evolved side-by-side with modern science and technology? The Resilients aims to explore the implications of these two powers coexisting.
Having only been raised by a single parent, our protagonist Alexandréa Chase (a young women reaching the end of high school in 2118) has fallen in with an unsavory crowd and is resorting to committing small felonies, which gets her into trouble with the law.
Her father Henry Chase, a draconologist for the United States government, takes his daughter on an assignment to study pygmy dragons in the north in an effort to keep her out of more trouble, where he is captured by an infiltrated member of The Sect, a cult / religious order that has rapidly been taking over governments in Europe for the past few decades.
After being persuaded to join The Resilients by Declan Ward (a member of the rebel organization partnering with a pygmy dragon he calls "Charlie") due to a common goal, Alex must learn to successfully wield Volition Powder in order to infiltrate The Sect, which has discovered the location of The Resilients’ base when Alex fails to properly close a Volition Powder induced "jump portal".
It’s up to Alex and the remaining survivors of The Resilients to overthrow The Sect and return freedom to the people of the world.
