The Queen of Light gave the ultimate sacrifice for her children: she turned her body into immortal stone on the portal to the Kingdom of Darkness, so they would no longer be tormented by the demons that it spawned, which whom brought unspeakable darkness into the world. Using her light, she forged stone so indestructible and strong not even the darkest and most powerful being could break it her spell. Only the Song of Harmony, the Choir of Angels, could move her statue. The King of Darkness, its ruler, was sent away, never to torment the souls of mortals again. Her spell locked his power so it could be no greater than her own. He was as powerless as her.

But the King plotted revenge against the Queen,. Year after year, he built a demon army from the few he had left in the world, the ones who were banished with him. He hoped it would crush the Queen’s puny mortals. Though human souls had both darkness and light, they favored the Queen more than Him. He began to resent the very beings he created; he wanted them to suffer for their betrayal. If only he could get his powers back, then he and his army could escape the prison the Queen trapped them in and attack. For hundreds of years, he waited. He tried to break the seals, but he was too weak. The Queen’s spell was too powerful. The Queen had laced her magic with a secret twist: his powers would not be restored until the light’s were.

Decades passed, and a new Queen of Light was born, her soul forged from light in the souls of a thousand angels. The purest and most radiant soul the universe had seen since the first Queen of Light. The King of Darkness hoped that as the new Queen grew up and became more powerful, his own would be restored. The only problem: she has no idea she has powers. She is unable to unlock them until she looks deep into her soul to find them. Until the new Queen is able to use her newfound powers, the King’s will remain sealed.
