OCEAN INDIGO

Radiating from the Brain Chakra

SERVE—TRUST—REWARD

Indigo is probably the cloudiest image when most people call the rainbow to mind. Between blue and purple, however, indigo is one of the seven colors of the spectrum of light. It is a distinct part of any rainbow. It is important to have a strong sense of this energy because this color helps us to look at and learn from our world, just as people have long been drawn to the edge of the ocean to contemplate inner truths.

What we learn from this sixth stage of personal growth is that we are all in some form of a “service” industry, no matter if we are a manufacturer of goods or in a service occupation. What is more, how well we serve determines how well we will be served in return. The larger the network we serve and trust, the greater the rewards we will earn in return. All we need to do is look inside ourselves, visualize an Ocean Indigo Light—a Pure Spirit that radiates from our Brain Chakra—and think about the three words of Serve, Trust and Reward. Soon you will be evaluating your memories, sharpening your mental acuteness, making distinctions between your thoughts and feelings, and learning to embrace common goals.

The Duality of Serve And Trust

Locating a mental image of an Ocean Indigo Light should be seen as the “centering” practice of this partner within. Once you have it in mind, think about the word “Serve.” Repeat the word initially with your inner voice, and then it will gradually become unnecessary to voice it. From the visualization of the color and the contemplation of service, you will see more and more clearly this truth: The better you serve, the better you will be served in return. This formula works for everyone. It works on the local level for you, your family, your friends and community. It works on the global level for nations accepting responsibility while seeking quality of life and a sustainable home for all.

We serve because we are part of a network of trust. Again, do not lose sight of the Pure Indigo Light; it is bringing the spirit of pure love into your practice. Repeating “Trust” brings a vast array of inspirations to mind. If you find yourself adrift on mental images, refocus by returning to the Ocean Indigo Light. You might feel the weight of this color as a profound, vast, almost living entity like the ocean. The edge of the ocean, sea or lake, is a profoundly spiritual place where one can easily be taken in trance. Perhaps this is because the ocean is life; it is from the water that life first took hold on planet Earth. The color of indigo is not a shallow color field; it is as deep as the ocean itself. It is as networked as rivers are to lakes, as lakes are to the ocean. It is a continuous surface that flows with the boundless energy that is the collective goodwill of humanity.

Resolution: Reward

“Reward” is the unification of serve and trust and it is here that we want to remember that the hope of all beings is prosperity. Reflect with indigo on honoring the golden rules among all the colleagues and institutions with which you are involved, respecting others in the same manner as you would have them respect you. Then, through the use of the loving guidance of an Ocean Indigo Light, you will improve your network of service and trust. Because we are all dependent on one another, and because we all need to be responsible members of the community of Earth, we all need to continue to develop our trusting and servicing abilities for the rest of our lives. The inevitable result will be reward for all.

The Functions of Ocean Indigo

Body: Indigo understands the behavior of the body. When we understand why we do the things we do, we will be in a better position to learn how to overcome our weaknesses and to reach our goals. Indigo guides us to trust the individuals who take the proper course with their lives.

Mind: Indigo inspires the thoughts of the mind. When we understand our mind’s limitations, we learn to overcome challenges and to capitalize on strengths. Indigo leads us to the information that suggests new and creative solutions for our concerns and goals.

Heart: Indigo heals the feelings of the heart. When we learn how to separate our heart’s positive energy of love from its negative energy of fear, we will be in a better position to evaluate the pros and cons of the relationships we are involved with.

Spirit: Indigo guides the beliefs of our spirit. When we discover spirit’s reservoir of love, we become enriched by the collective energy of all, grasping a bigger picture of the common decency of mankind.

Listen And Learn

How do we learn to serve those we trust? The ancient proverb “Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me” still applies. First, we cannot assume that we know who is right and who is wrong. We need to look to their bodies, learning their body language, collecting the information not verbalized. We look to their minds, learning the meaning behind their words. We look to their hearts, discovering their feelings and desires so that we can evaluate them for love and prudence. We look to their spirit, learning from their wisdoms and beliefs, enabling us to strive for the information that is in the best interests of all.

One of the foremost benefits that come from serving others is that it then becomes easier to earn their services in return. Serving is an opportunity for learning, understanding and respect. Serving also breeds trust because deep down, almost all of us almost always want to do the right thing. Occasionally people make mistakes—selfishness and prejudice exists, tempers can be lost—but in the light of the trillions of interactions between billions of people, they are extremely rare events.

Because the energy of our Brain Chakra (sometimes referred to as our “inner eye”) is influenced by the genetic and cultural inheritances of our nature and nurturing, problems at this stage of personal growth could affect our abilities to think critically, evaluate alternatives and to listen and learn properly. Difficulties here can have an effect on the physical brain, the central nervous system, and its primary input systems, the eyes and ears. Problems would only be worsened by the destructive emotions of greed and rape. Headaches and insomnia would be among the more common warning signs. Regardless of the severity of problems, they can always be addressed by using the Pure Spirit of an Ocean Indigo Light and the partner within of Serve—Trust—Reward.
