The Optimistics is a tale of A.I. and anxiety. In a future where we’ve created robots that pass the Turing test with flying colours, robotic labor versus robotic slavery is a hot topic of debate. The law dictates that androids can only work if they really want to work. On paper, this means only certified government technicians are allowed to program android brains. In practice, it means there’s a lot of money at stake for the first backyard mechanic who can build the perfect worker bot.
With so many moving parts, there’s bound to be a glitch or two that goes unnoticed. When things start getting weird, a ragtag group of farmers and fugitives - who happen to be in the right place at the right time – must do what they can to stop an android uprising. Of course, if you can’t beat them… you can always join them.
