Wow!  I was caught off guard the quick twist in this story, and desperately want to read more.

Chilling and clinical, The Mercy Giver will draw you in immediately as neither the writer nor the protagonist waste any time establishing themselves. By using the protagonist's voice to influence the writing in first person, we are left with a great example of free indirect style so that the reader feels like a part of the world.

I enjoyed this reading greatly! I felt that the tone and message was unique, interesting and dark of course. The feelings I felt as a reader after he killed the cop and drove off, explaining what he felt and why he was doing it really drew the chapter to a sweet finish. Very intense read! The atmosphere was already dark to begin with but then the author grants the reader even more darkness, a compelling chill that draws you in. I look forward to more!
