It takes courage-and perhaps audacity-to come out swinging, and I’d say JF Dubeau‘s debut novel, The Life Engineered, throws a few powerful punches that make his a book worth giving your undivided attention. In many ways, The Life Engineered is archetypical, but in other ways, it represents a novel approach to a classic medium: robot-focused science fiction.

J-F. Dubeau has just published his first novel, The Life Engineered, and has a plethora of other story ideas for future books to come. His next major work is a trilogy of horror and fantasy with the first book, A God in the Shed, in the heat of its campaign on Inkshares.

A really fun and exciting read that draws the reader in immediately. The story line was original and the character development excellent.A really fun and exciting read that draws the reader in immediately. The story line was original and the character development excellent.

Fun book with to read. Good story with enough turns and twists to keep you on your toes. Kinda like the Matrix meets Asimov's robot novels.Fun book with to read. Good story with enough turns and twists to keep you on your toes. Kinda like the Matrix meets Asimov's robot novels.

J-F Dubeau has created the universe that I would have wished for the future of humanity had I the capacity to consider beyond corporeal form. He has managed to combine the science fiction universe of outer space and robots with ancient ideas similar to reincarnation and the refinement of souls. I was instantly drawn into the adventures of Dagir and followed her journey as she readjusts to her form and the world around her until the very end in a single sitting. There's nothing quite like stretching from sitting in one position after immersing oneself in another life for just a few hours. Dubeau's writing is filled with optimism and the bright-eyed excitement of someone who truly loves what they do. I live in a world filled with books and I've never regretted that fact, however, coming across something as delightful and original as The Life Engineered is still wonderfully refreshing.

I can't remember the last book I read where I was introduced to a new universe and it felt so familiar so fast. You can quickly understand the world that J-F has created For a book about robots and AI's, the characters feel very unique and alive. This is some good sci-fi without going too much into the hard sci-fi. Faster than Light travel is explained in that yes it exists, and there are a couple options, and left at that so you can enjoy the actual story.I can't remember the last book I read where I was introduced to a new universe and it felt so familiar so fast.
