Up until now, I’ve mainly written biographies and plays.  So why switch to mysteries?  In no small measure because the main women in my life all wanted me to give it a try.  For the past five years or so, we’ve been going to a family reunion at a resort very much like the one used as background for The Lake Erie Mysteries.  It is a gated community where residents can walk about at any hour of the day or night and feel perfectly safe.  None of the residents lock their doors.  In short it’s too perfect.  It needed a dark, underside.

Like all writers, I use real people and events as the basis for the stories.  Part of the mystery for readers (besides figuring out the solution to the mystery) will be to also figure out which people and events are real and which come from an over active imagination.
