Caleb Yeager Söderman grew up hearing about Armin Zandt, Catherine Dean, and other heroes of the last great war. They’d fought the human race back from the brink of extinction and forged the Amal Union out of fire and chaos and sacrifice. When he was fourteen, the ‘Tigers’ slashed and butchered their way through Caleb’s home colony until Zandt turned them back. From that day on, Caleb knew he wanted to be sworn to the Union’s service.

But these days, the Union’s less about adventure and more about appeasement. Trade treaties, diplomatic deals, even talk of military joint exercises with yesterday’s existential threats. Zandt knows the Union are selling out whole systems to the enemy but nobody there listens to him anymore. Caleb and the other servicers under his command, on the other hand, will still follow his hunches to the gates of Hell and beyond.

Now they’re flying deep into the black, rogue and disavowed, to strike at the ’Tigers’ first and expose a conspiracy beating in the very heart of the Union’s. The problem is, the Union’s sent their best and most unstoppable force to shut them down before it’s too late.

And General Catherine Dean won’t stop coming until one of them is dead...

CHARLES E.P. MURPHY has co-written two e-books - Off Campus and Codename Spectrum - and they were pretty violent too. His fourth one should probably be happier. One day he’ll stop being a fan of 2000 AD, James Roberts Transformers, and the Ancillary trilogy, but that day is not today."

B.D. TAYLOR is a pop culture agnostic and irascible grump who probably didn’t like what you like even before it was cool to hate it. He likes fast cars, world travel, loose women, and irresponsibly misrepresenting himself in about-the-author biographies to look more exciting.
