Thirty engineering teams are hand picked to build new car technology to be tested in a cross country race. Billionaires are tapped to finance the race based on the simple fact that the current tech is still steeped into the internal combustion engine. The winner would see their technology be incorporated into new car technology over the next few years. Winning was worth more than the multi million dollar prize, it could be worth billions to the race’s winner.
What happens when billionaires want to win badly? They cheat. To bad for everybody else.
For Katrina, an MIT mechanical engineering student, She wanted to be picked to intern over the summer for a very rare event, an internship that actually paid money. She had lots of loans to pay. When she got chosen she was excited. When she got to work on a special project that involved a laser that would help trim the lot of drivers that arrived at the end made her even more excited. When she became chosen to sit in the passenger seat to run the weapon, that was only designed to disable other race cars, her excitement peeked.
When people started to gang up on their car to take it out of the race her perspective changed. The other lasers were not the issue at hand. When the mob tried to take them out in more than one situation and guns came into to the mix. Surviving became the order of the day.
Eventually she and their driver, Richard, the investor’s son, were running for their lives. There was no place to stop and hide until the race was over. A bounty was placed on their heads. At one million dollars everyone wanted them dead. The only way to stop the people chasing them was to win or die.
