Thank you so much for your support! I ended up making it to 8th place in the contest with close to 300 submissions. Not too bad! After thinking bout a few different aspects regarding my book, I have decided to pull The House on the Lake from the contest and from Inkshares. It’s still moving forward; I’m working on revisions now and then I’ll be at the editing stage. My hope is to publish in March or April.

I really love this passage from chapter one - I can imagine it perfectly. The way you describe this feeling is perfect.
"My eyes pop open and seconds later, I’m sitting up in a strange bed in a strange room about to panic—or pee my pants—when a thought holds me back. There’s something I’m forgetting. I know there is. I’m here for a reason. A memory niggles at the back of my mind, like the words of a song just on the tip of my tongue.
