Well hello, random people I’ve never met.

Do you like books? Strange books? Books about video games, and people disappearing, and possibly other worlds that take you inside your son’s brain, kinda, maybe? Well, that’s oddly specific, you weirdo, but that’s actually what I have in store for you!

The Games at our Core is about Michael and Linda, a married couple whose relationship is barely alive, and whose only child has disappeared, and is also, like, probably super dead, so that doesn’t help things.

As they mourn in their teenage son’s room, they notice strange sounds coming from his childhood console, the one he got on Christmas morning 15 years prior, the one with which he has since spent an insane amount of time, the one which virtually became his best friend, but most importantly, the one which slowly took him away from his parents, before he actually disappeared. As Michael and Linda approach the console, they are suddenly sucked into it, pitting them as the begrudging heroes in a video game adaptation of what seems to be their child’s memories. As they advance in their journey, solving puzzles and fighting hoards of bullies along the way, they have to become closer than ever for a chance to find back the one that has kept them together all these years. Will the Game give them the answers they’re looking for?

This book is about grief, family, relationships, nostalgia, and most importantly, weird shit happening. That’s a winning combo.

This book will become the best of the minute when it’s released, but to get there, I need your help. Buy the book, perhaps buy another few copies, and then go tell everyone you know! The Games at our Core! The Games at our Core! THE GAMES AT OUR CORE! Go.
