The Forest and the Trees is a book about family, society, and giant cyborg snakes. I really wanted to write a book that was fun and exciting while still having something to say. The Forest and the Trees is probably about me trying to have as much fun as possible while telling a story about the fantastic things that I enjoy reading about.

The story follows a young woman name Heather. She has spent her whole life in the confines of the huge primordial forest that dominates her world. The only source of conflict in her world is the human city Community. The only built structures on the whole of the planet, Heather comes into conflict with not only the city guard, but the god like leader of the city as well. The Technarch rules the city from his fortress at its center.

The other perspective will follow Carl, one of the city guard who only wants to protect his city and keep his family safe as the powerful forces of Community and the Forest come to a head.

Each side is fueled by powerful forces that work both within themselves and in their separate societies. Though many of the aspects of the story may seem reminiscent of Fantasy, I assure you this is a story rooted in science fiction, though to tell you why would kind of spoil the best bits.
