Chapter 1
In a farm near the forest, there lives a family called the Smith, who they make money for the farm by selling their crops or furniture made by wood. The father’s name is Albert, he was the one who moved his family from the city to the farm so they can get contact with nature and play outside instead of playing with cellphones or video games, he’s 41 years old. the mother is Claire, she used to use her cellphone too much until when they moved to the farm, she stopped using her cellphone and she started to plant fruits so they could eat it or sell it, she’s 38 years old. The older daughter is Melissa, she was so popular back their home but that changed when they moved, she was so angry because she doesn’t like nature and she lost her popularity but two months later she started to adapt to the farm, she’s 19 years old. And finally, the younger children are Max and Thomas, they were born at the same date making twins, back their home they used to be losers because they had a bully called Brad that one day he wet Max’s pants and he make a story that he pee his pants and another day, he put girl’s makeup on Thomas’s locker and when Thomas open his locker, the makeup fell on the ground and since those days, everyone starts to call Max “PeeMax” and Thomas “Taylor Swift” but later they moved from the city and they get free of Brad and they like so much the farm and their job is to chop down some wood to make furniture, they’re 17 years old, and that was the Smith family.
In the morning, Thomas was trying to wake up Max “Max, wake up, Max, MAX!!” Max wake up very scared and he shouts at Thomas “Dude, why are you waking me up, it’s so early?!!” “Because dad said that today we have so much to work so we must start working now” Max was to tired to work and he tried to sleep but he couldn’t sleep so he accepted work in the morning “Okay fine, let’s go for the axes” They go downstairs for the axes in the storage room and Claire was waiting them for breakfast “Kids, time for breakfast” Max and Thomas ate their eggs very fast so they can start to work and Albert was waiting for them in the front door.
“Alright kids, you know what you have to do, you must collect wood and then come back to me with the wood, okay?”
“Okay” they said, they went to the storage room for the axes, once they grabbed the axes, they went to forest.
Max and Thomas were collecting wood in the forest, their first day was not easy, they always return injured, Albert taught them how to chop down a tree very carefully and easy and he taught them for two years until they knew how to do it and now they do it very easy, they were working for three hours until they finished and they were about to go to the farm with the wood but Thomas said.
“Hey, do you want to explore the forest?”
Max wasn’t sure about the idea because the forest is so big and they could get lost.
“Are you crazy?, this forest is so big, we could get lost”
“Don’t be such a coward, this forest can contain some secrets or maybe dark secrets, c’mon let’s explore the forest”
Max wasn’t so sure about the idea but he won’t let anyone call him “coward” so he made a decision.
“Okay fine, we will explore the forest but before the sun goes down”
Thomas was so happy for seeing his brother’s decision of exploring the forest with him so they went through the forest looking for an adventure but they didn’t found anything until Max heard Thomas saying something but very loud.
“Oh my God, Max check this out!”
Max ran to Thomas and he was amazing of what he’s seeing, a big tree, Thomas said:
“Wow, this is so cool, we must tell our parents about this”
“I’m not so sure, I never seen this before, it so weird”
They been watching the tree for hours, Max checked to see what time is it.
“Dude, It’s six o’clock, we should be in the farm right now”
“Okay, let me just look at the tree for a minute”
Thomas was walking in circles to look at the tree but he stopped right behind the tree, his face was too confusing.
“Max, check this out!”
Max check it out and he was too confusing too, there was an arrow pointing to the right with words over the arrow that it says “WATCH OUT!!!” Max and Thomas were to scared to look to their right but they do it and they saw another tree with another words written in there “WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT PRESS THE BUTTON, IF YOU PRESS IT YOU WILL FACE THE CONSEQUENCES!!!” and that was true, there is a button down below the message but they didn’t understand why whoever is doesn’t want anybody to press the button but that scared too much Max and Thomas so they return to the farm very fast as they can with the wood but when they return, Albert was waiting for them very angry.
“WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?!!”
“We been exploring the forest”
“YOU BEEN DOING WHAT?!!”
“We’re so sorry”
“YOU COULD GET LOST, THAT FOREST IS SO BIG, THAT’S IT GO TO YOUR ROOM AND YOU GONNA HAVE EXTRA HOURS OF WORK TOMORROW NOW THAT YOU LIKE TO EXPLORE THE FOREST” “WHAT?!!” They both shouted. “YOU HEARD ME, EXTRA WORK, TOMORROW, WITH NO REST, I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU TWO JUST DID THAT, I’M SO DISAPPOINTED ON YOU TWO, NOW GO TO YOUR ROOM”
Max and Thomas went to their room without saying a thing.
They put their pajamas, they went to their beds and they fell asleep. But Max couldn’t sleep because of message of the tree with the button but somehow, Max fell asleep for unknown reasons because he didn’t tried to sleep, Max was having a dream of him and Thomas exploring the forest and they found the tree with the button and Thomas was about to press it but suddenly everything went black, Max couldn’t see anything, he was too scared until he heard something like a voice trying to tell him something that made things more confusing than before.
“Return and press the button, press it so you can save us all from darkness, you and your brother, when you press it, I will protect you until the end so you can save us, I will wait for you, press the button”
Chapter Two
Max couldn’t sleep at all, every time that he sleep, he heard the voice telling him the same thing over and over, he was confused, first the message said that he mustn’t press the button and now there’s a voice telling him that he and Thomas must press the button to save everyone from some evil.
The next morning, Max tried to wake up Thomas this time.
“Thomas, it’s time to work!” and he wake up.
“Wha… What time is it?”
“Time to work”
“Wha… Max? why are you waking me up? I thought I must wake you up when I wake up, I can’t believe it, you are waking me up? this must be a dream”
That annoyed a little bit to Max, just because Thomas always wakes him up and he sometimes calls him “Sleeping Beauty” but this time, Max woke Thomas up.
“Remember Thomas, Dad gave us extra hours of work so we must start right now”
“Okay”
They go downstairs for a fast breakfast, to the storage room for the axes and they go to the forest for the wood like everyday but with some extra work, while there were in the forest, Thomas asks him something.
“Why did you wake up early? you never wake up early”
Max was so nervous to tell him about the voice that told him about pressing the button but he tel him about what happened.
“I had a dream very weird, we were in the forest, you were about to press the button and everything went black and there was a voice telling me that we must press the button so we can save them from some evil”
“He told you that we must press the button, but what about the message that we found yesterday on the tree?”
“I don’t know, the voice said that we must press the button”
“Maybe someone is playing with us a prank, right?”
“I think so”
Max and Thomas tried to not talk about that, they were working for six hours until they finished including their extra hours so they return to the farm with the wood, they enter to the farm and Albert was waiting for them.
“Have you learn the lesson about not exploring the forest?”
“Yes we do”
“Good, now go to your room now”
They went to their room, they put their pajamas and they fell asleep but before they went to sleep, Thomas tell Max his idea.
“I have an idea”
“What is it?”
“Why don’t we go to the tree with the button next morning and see what happens?”Max was so nervous but he was curious about what is going to happen so he said:
“Alright, we gonna press the button tomorrow at morning”
“Alright, now let’s go to sleep but don’t have any dreams about voices telling you something”
“Okay”
They fell asleep but Max had another dream about a voice but he said something different. “Good choice, you and your brother will save us all from evil, I will wait for you and I gonna promise you that I will protect you both, I promise”.
Chapter Three
The night was long, they been waiting for hours for the morning so they can go the forest, find the tree with the button and press it so they can see what happens but they been waiting for hours, Thomas was so desperate to go and press that button until his patience was gone and he decided to go to the forest right now.
“Max, Max MAX!!”
“Wha… What the hell, is it morning?”
“I can’t wait anymore dude, we must go to the forest right now”
Max thought that Thomas was crazy for thinking of an idea like that.
“Are you crazy?! that forest is so creepy, let’s just wait until the morning”
“Stop being such a pussy Max, that forest is hiding something and we gonna find out right now”
Max didn’t like that Thomas called him “pussy” so he accepted the idea.
“Alright fine we’re going to the forest, oh and by the way, I had another dream about the voice”
“You did?, did the voice tell you something?”
“Yes, he told me I made a good choice of going to press the button and he said he’s going to protect us so we can save them but I don’t know from what”
“Well what we’re waiting for?, we must press the button”
“Alright but first, we must go to the kitchen and get some provisions in case of something happen to us and clothes too”
“Let’s go, we’re going to an adventure”
Max and Thomas went downstairs for food, clean clothes and some weapons like daggers, guns and their axes, once they get their equipment, they put all win their backpacks and they went outside to go to the forest, their adventure start, they went to forest. The forest was so creepy at night, the trees look like they were haunted by some souls but what they scared them most was that the trees have creepy faces so they run so fast to the tree with the button so they get out of there, when they found it, the kids were so nervous about pressing the button, they don’t know what is going to happen but the voice tells them that they must go and press it so they can save them from something.
“Are you ready Max?” Thomas said.
Max was so nervous because they don’t know what is going to happen but the voice told that they gonna save them from something so he make his decision.
“I’m ready, press it”
Thomas held his finger closer to the button to press it and finally he press it but nothing happen, Max and Thomas were disappointed that the button didn’t do anything.
“This was a disappointment dude, I think someone played us a prank” Max said.
“You’re right, lets go home”
But suddenly, they didn’t move even if they try.
“What’s going on?!!! why I can’t move?!!” Max shouted.
“I don’t know man!!!! what’s going on?!!!”
The day were going to fast, the sun goes down down every two seconds until Max and Thomas passed out but before Max closed his eyes, he saw a guy walking towards them and he said to them.
“Welcome saviors to our world, save us from S.O.T.T, save us, one day we will meet again and I promise I will answer all of your questions, I promise”
And he disappeared.
Chapter Four
Max and Thomas, lying down unconscious by the effect that the button gave them, Max wake up and he tried to wake up Thomas. When Max wake up, he didn’t notice anything different after Thomas press the button, everything was like before but he did notice something, there was light, before Thomas press the button the forest was so dark and spooky with the creepy faces on the trees but Max is trying to wake up Thomas.
“Psst, Thomas wake up, wake up, WAKE UP DAMMIT!!!”
“Wh… what?, what happened?”
“I don’t know, I just woke up”
Thomas gets up and he ask Max a question.
“Are we in our room?”
“No”
“Then why is there light here?, the forest was dark and spooky, do we sleepwalking?”
“I don’t know but why are we sleeping on the forest and why is so shiny here?”
“I think we sleepwalk last night maybe we should return to the farm”
“I don’t think that’s a good idea Thomas, what if dad gets angry at us again and he makes us to make extra work again, I’m not so sure about the idea”
“But what are we going to do now? run away and return to the city, don’t be a coward again, lets just face the consequences”
Max and Thomas walked to the farm but with fear to Albert, what if he give them extra work?, they didn’t know what was going to happen so they were walking and walking until they return to the farm but when they return, they got shocked what they were seeing.
The farm wasn’t there, Max knows how was the farm before they went to the forest so there was no possibility that they could get lost and Thomas knows how was the land of the farm and the area looks exactly like the farm but there was no farm. Max was screaming to call them.
“Dad!!, Mom!!, Melissa!!, anybody!!”
But with no response.
They were too scared about what is happening, Thomas was thinking that could be a prank so Albert can teach them a lesson about not going to the forest.
“Alright fine dad!!, we shouldn’t explore the forest but we learnt the lesson and we’re never going back to the forest!!; are you happy?!!”
But with no response.
“I don’t think dad is pulling us prank”
“Then what’s going on? first I press a mysterious button that immobilized and fainted us, later we woke up in the middle of the forest with bright light when in reality the forest was so dark and finally the farm’s not here, what’s going on?”
“I don’t know, maybe we should call someone, do you have your phone?”
“Uh…”
“What the hell did you do?”
“I kinda left our phones in our room”
“What?!!!”
“I thought that we will never use them until now”
“You asshole!!, of course we need them!”
“Sorry I didn’t know”
“I gonna kill you!”
Max was chasing Thomas with rage until he fell of with a rock, Thomas ran to the trees and Max went after him.
Max couldn’t find Thomas, the forest was so big but at least with light, he couldn’t find him until he saw him but he was not moving, he was pointing to something very scared, Max went after him and he was totally scared.
“Did that tree just talk?!”
“What are you talking about? trees don’t talk”
“You don’t understand, I was running until that tree said to me Welcome and later he stopped talking”
“I think you’re hallucinating or hearing things, remember that trees don’t talk”
“Ok, I guess you’re right”
“Maybe on your world but here, trees talk” said a strange voice.
“Did that tree just talk?” Max said very surprised and scared at the same time.
“Of course I can talk, are you stupid?”
“No, it must some sort of robot, there’s no way that trees talk”
“You’re so unbelievable, well, it’s your first day here, I think you didn’t know trees can talk because you look like you’re shocked”
“Of course I’m shocked, how can this happen?” Thomas said.
“Well you two press the button so you can be here and by the way, my name’s Terry, I’m a talking tree”
“We noticed that talk… I mean, Terry”
“Alright now that you know me it’s time i tell you what’s going on”
“Wait, you do?”
“Of course I’m gonna tell you because you look like you poop your pants”
“Alright just tell us what’s going on”
“Okay lets start. Well, when you press the button, you two got teleported from your world to another world”
“Wait wait wait, you’re telling us that…” Max couldn’t finish the last word because Terry told them what happened.
“Yes. You two are in a new world”
Chapter Five
There was a silence, nobody said a word after the recent news about what happened when Thomas pressed the button until Terry break the silence.
“What’s with silence? Are you okay?”
“No we’re not okay, we’re in a new world away from home!” Thomas said.
“And what about our family Terry?” they are gonna get worry about us!”
“Don’t worry about that, everything is going to be fine, you two just need a relax”
“Relax, relax!!!, Terry we’re in another world and we don’t what place is this!”Max shouted
“Woah woah calm down there kiddo, you’re just under a lot of stress about what’s going on here”
“How i’m gonna calm down when i’m in an another world and where‘re we going to spend the night Terry?!!”
“How about you two make a shelter?”
There was another silence, Max and Thomas like the idea but the problem is that they don’t know how to make one.
“Terry I like the idea but we don’t know how to make a shelter”
“You don’t, don’t worry I will tell how to make one, okay?”
“Okay”
“But one more thing Terry, what if a dangerous animal comes to our shelter and attacks us?”
“You could make the shelter on me, animals can’t climb my branches”
“Are you sure Terry” Thomas asked.
“Do you think you are the only ones who makes a shelter on me?”
“Wait, we’re not the only ones?, we’re not alone?” Max asked.
“You will find out soon but your priority is to make a shelter”
“Alright but where are the materials we need?”
“You don’t need materials, there’s another way to make a shelter if you don’t know how to make one”
“There is? What is it?” Thomas asked.
“You must follow a light and it’s gonna guide you to a magical book that will make your shelter but you must do it right know before the sun goes down”
“Where’s the light?”
“Behind you”
They look behind and they saw a light and It was going away from them.
“You must hurry before the sun goes down”
“Alright we’re going after that light”
“Okay kids, I’ll wait for you until you find the book”
“Okay see ya Terry”
Max and Thomas chase after the light until they were blue on their faces, the light was so fast but they must get the book so they can build their shelter but they’re so tired, they were about to give up and return to build the shelter until they saw the light stopping, the brothers follow the light and it was in front of a tree and later the light disappeared it means that the book must be in a part of the tree, Max and Thomas examine the tree, branches, left, right, in front of, behind,etc but with no signals of the book, they were about to give up but tree starts shining and saying things:
“Hello travelers, I supposed you’re looking for the book, well it’s yours but with only one condition”
The brothers were waiting for the condition and the tree tell them the condition.
“You must protect the book with your life from evil, I will not give you the book until you accept my condition”
Max and Thomas were thinking about that deal, they don’t know if they could protect the book but they have no choices and they need the shelter so Max said:
“Yes, we’ll protect the book with our lives”
“The deal has been made, you have now the book, I hope you protect it because if the book falls into the wrong hands, this world will end, goodbye travelers and I hope you’ll protect the book”
And the voice disappeared.
Now they have the book, Max and Thomas ran to Terry so they can make the shelter and spend the night. Terry was waiting until he saw them running to him with the book.
“Well looks like you get the book, good job, now lets make the shelter”
Max grab the book ready to listen Terry’s instructions how to make a shelter.
“First go to page 256, later find the second paragraph and finally say what it says”
“Okay”
Max went to page 256, found the second paragraph and later he said what it says.
“Abazaubacharamukamarabadamaba please give us a shelter for survive the night”
And then a sparkle came out of the book and it went on top of Terry and later a thunder came out of the sky and it strikes on top of Terry.
“AHHH!!! it burns!!, it burns!!” Terry screamed.
And then, the flames was creating boards of wood from below to above with doors and windows util the sparkle disappeared but it made a cool shelter, Max and Thomas were amazed what they saw.
“What the…, did that sparkle create a shelter?” Thomas asked.
“Yes kiddo, that book is magical and you need to keep it because it’s so powerful and anybody could use that power for evil and darkness”
“Yes okay we made a promise to another talking tree that gave us the book” Max said.
“Oh that tree, it’s not a talking tree, it’s just the light that possessed the tree so he can talk to you, it’s not a talking tree”
“Oh, okay we thought there was another talking but I guess you’re the only one ,right?”Max said.
“You haven’t see anything, you two will find out about some things here in the forest and by the way, you should have some rest because you both look tired about what’s going on”
“Thanks Terry, are you gonna help us return home?” Thomas asked.
“Sure why not, you must need help, oh and I almost forgot, drink this tea”
Max and Thomas drink it and It was gross, they spit the honey.
“Terry, why was that?!!”
“You will find out but first, you must go to the shelter and sleep because tomorrow you must find food”
“Okay Terry” Thomas said.
The brothers went to shelter for some rest and Terry ask them something.
“I forgot to ask you something, what’s your names?”
“My name’s Max and this’s my brother Thomas”
“Di… did you say Max and Thomas?”
“Yes, why?”
“Nothing nothin just rest, we have a lot of work to do”
The shelter is beautiful, it has windows, beds, furniture, etc, Max and Thomas lay on their beds and they tried to rest but Max was thinking, why Terry was a little worry when he discover their names?, what’s going to happen tomorrow? but they must rest because tomorrow they have so much to work.
Chapter Six
The sun shining, the birds flying, it’s a new day and Max and Thomas’s second day in the mysterious magical forest, they wake up in their new beds on their shelter.
“Good morning Thomas”
“Good morning Max”
“Good morning Max and Thomas”
“Good morning Terry” Max said.
“Rise and shine kids, you must find food if you don’t want to starve so come down and I’ll tell you how to find food”
“Okay” Thomas said.
Max and Thomas climb down from the shelter and they talk to Terry about finding food.
“Hey kids, so if you want to find food, do you have the book?”
“Yes we do” “Perfect now go to page 167, then find the fourth paragraph and finally read it”
Max do what Terry told him and he found the fourth paragraph and the paragraph says:
If you’re starving, go to the north and you will find food in a lonely place called Lilithopia.
“So we will find food in Lilithopia, why it’s call Lilithopia?” Thomas asked.
“They said that Lilithopia is so lonely but very beautiful and it’s full of flowers, that’s a mystery”
“Where’s Lilithopia” Max asked.
“Do you see a path behind me”
Max took a look behind Terry and there’s a path.
“Yes why?”
“That path will lead you to Lilithopia”
“Great, lets go” Thomas aid.
“Hold on Thomas, there’s only one thing you must know about Lilithopia”
“What is it Terry?”
“When you find the food, you’ll find a guardian and she’s gonna tell you what do you need to do if you want the food and it’s a little risky”
“What is it?”
“You will find out and you’ll need help from the book”
“Okay, thanks Terry” Max said.
“You’re welcome kid now go to Lilithopia”
Max and Thomas walked to Lilithopia.
While they were walking, Max told Thomas about Terry’s worry last night.
“Terry got worried when I told him our names”
“Do you know why?”
“No, he never told me”
“Don’t worry, Terry seems like a nice guy for helpings us”
“Yes but why he want us to drink that disgusting honey last night?”
“I don’t know, maybe will find out about that later”
“Yes but I’m worrying about Lilithopia”
“Why?”
“Terry said that the guardian will make us do something risky”
“Don’t worry, he told us that the book will help us”
“Okay lets focus in Lilithopia, we must find food”
Max and Thomas were walking for 45 minutes, they didn’t find anything but they continue walking and walking and walking, Max passed out on the floor, Thomas passed out too, they closed their eyes until they heard a booming voice.
“You must wake up kids”
Max and Thomas wake up very surprised, the voice sounded like Terry, Max thought they were hallucinating Terry’s voice but the booming voice return.
“Did you give up?”
“Yes but who are you?” Thomas asked.
“I am known as Terry, the tree you found in the middle of the forest”
“WHAT?!!!”
“Bu… But Terry, you are in the forest, why can we hear you?!”
“Remember the honey of last night?”
“Yes why?”
“The honey gave you the ability of communicate with me in your mind, nobody can hear me except you two, that’s telepathy”
“Wait what?!”
“Oh yeah, so I’m hear to help you when I heard that you were about to give up”
“But Terry, Lilithopia is so far, we’re tired” Thomas said.
“Yes Terry, how far is Lilithopia?”
“Remember that you both have food in your backpacks, I think you forgot that you have it”
Max and Thomas were thinking until they remember their provisions before Thomas press the button, they check in their backpacks and they have some food like sandwiches, orange juices, etc, they both started eating their sandwiches but very fast because they didn’t eat for a whole day, while they were eating, Max ask Terry something:
“Terry, Where’s Lilithopia?”
“Do you follow the path?"
“Yes”
“Then later you’ll see town full of flowers and beauty but very lonely, I don’t know why?”
“But, how far is it?”
“3 minutes from here, you’re close to get there but remember my warning, when you find the food, the guardian will make you do something very risky so you need help from the book, do you want instructions?”
“Yes we need instructions Terry”
“Alright, go to the index and you’ll find a topic called Apples of Lilithopia and it’s gonna tell you a hint, that’s all the instructions so continue your long walk but don’t worry, you’re close, I will help when you need it, goodbye”
“But Terry we need…” Max couldn’t finish, Terry left them for now, Max and Thomas continue their long walk.
3 minutes later, Max and Thomas finally arrived to Lilithopia, the place is so beautiful, there’s a town surrounded by flowers, The brothers were hypnotized by the place but their question is: why is Lilithopia so lonely?, they run to the town of Lilithopia for the food but Max stopped so he can read the topic of Apples of Lilithopa and solve the puzzle they were about to confront, Max found the page of Apples of Lilithopa and it says:You’re in this page because you’re about to solve the deadly puzzle of Lilithopia, I can’t tell you what the puzzle consists but I’m gonna tell you a hint that would save your life, “Apples are red, Hearts are red, find the apple that looks like your heart” Max didn’t understand that hint but he’ll find out, Thomas was waiting for him.
“Max, what are you doing?, come here!”
Max chase after Thomas as he run through all the town with no stop.
“Thomas!!, stop running, I’m… tired” Max bend down and he looked in his backpack for water and there was a big bottle of water, Max was drinking for 10 minutes, when he finished, Thomas disappeared.
Max walk all over the town for Thomas, he shouted:
“THOMAS!!!, THOMAS!!!, THOMAS!!!”
But he didn’t answer him. Max was looking for him for 20 minutes and he didn’t find him, but later he heard someone screaming.
“MAX!!!, MAX!!!, MAX!!!”
Max follow the cry and it looks like it was coming from the center of Lilithopia, when Max arrived, he saw Thomas standing in front of woman, she was wearing a druid costume, she has a long blonde hair and she was skinny, Max arrived and the woman received him.
“Welcome traveler, my name’s Elizabeth and I think you’re looking for food because you’re starving, right?”
“Yes we need food” Thomas said.
“Well if you want food, then you must solve my puzzle”
She walked to a post full of red apples of different shapes and she was explaining the puzzle.
“Do you see these apples?, every apple has poison and if you bite it, you’ll die but one of the apples has no poison and you must find out what apple is”
Max and Thomas were scared, the puzzle is too risky and they could die if they choose the wrong apple, Max didn’t know what to do, Thomas neither, they started looking at the apples for some sort of clue but they don’t have any idea, Max was about to grab an apple for examine but the druid told him:
“If you grab an apple then you must bite it”
Max put away his hand from the apple and Thomas didn’t find anything, Max and Thomas were a little confused of the puzzle and they ran out of ideas but Thomas suggested that they’ll have something helpful but all they have was food, juice and the book. Then, Max remember the hint on the book about the puzzle and then, Terry’s voice return and he surprised Max and Thomas.
“Well looks like you finally remember the hint on the book, do you have amnesia or something?”
“No we don’t have amnesia Terry” Thomas said.
“Then try to remember all warnings I give you kids”
“Okay Terry, we now remember the hint on the book” Max said.
“Okay, see ya kids, I’ll be there when you need me”
Max looked in the book the hint that says: You’re in this page because you’re about to solve the deadly puzzle of Lilithopia, I can’t tell you what the puzzle consists but I’m gonna tell you a hint that would save your life, “Apples are red, Hearts are red, find the apple that looks like your heart” Max was reading the hint for like six times and he didn’t understand the hint and he tried to talk with Terry about the hint and he told him:
“Are you stupid or you never go to school?, the hint is too obvious even a baby can solve it”
“The what I need to do?” Max asked.
“Read it and you will understand”
“Thanks for the help Terry” Max said sarcastically.
“You’re welcome kid, don’t be stupid”
“Haha very funny Terry”
And Terry left them with the situation.
Max read the hint a lot of times and he still doesn’t understand, why Terry says that the hint is super easy and too obvious, Max read it over and over but he give up and he tell Thomas.
“Thomas, your turn, I don’t know what that hint means”
Thomas read it two times and he said something that amazed Thomas:
“I know what that means, why can’t you understand it?”
Max didn’t believed in Thomas for saying something like that but he was talking seriously.
“Hey Max, leave it to me”
Thomas crouch down and he was looking with determination at the apples, he took 25 minutes for examine the apples until he look one with more determination than the others one and he told to the druid:
“I know which apple has no poison”
“Then grab it and bite it and if you survive, the food will be yours”
Thomas grab the apple and he was about to take a bite, Max couldn’t look because of his nerves and he was worried that Thomas chose the wrong apple and he was about to die, Thomas take a bite and he and Max were very worried if he chose the wrong apple.
“Now that you bite it, wait for 10 seconds and see if you chose the correct or wrong apple, the countdown starts right now”
10… 9… 8… 7… 6… 5…, the time was so fast and the brothers were so nervous to find out if Thomas survive or die, 4… 3…, the time is almost coming and they were more nervous than the previous seconds, 2…, only one more second left and its gonna be catastrophic or miraculous, everyone didn’t know what’s going to happen including the druid, 1…, the countdown was over, Thomas started to act like he was having a heart attack, he lay on the ground, acting very crazy, spitting a lot of saliva and shaking his hands and legs like a maniac until he stopped, he was still, he didn’t move a muscle, Max thought he was dead, he held his hand closer to Thomas’s dead body and cried over his dead body for 5 minutes.
Max get up and he was walking away from Lilithopia but the druid stopped him before he go away.
“Wait!!!, your brother isn’t dead, he just reacting to the effects”
“What?!!! but he isn’t moving”
“Just wait for 5 seconds and he’ll wake up, I promise”
“I don’t understand”
“He chose the right apple but the apple has some effects to the ones who bite it”
“So he’s gonna wake up in 5 seconds?”
“Yes, just wait and he’ll wake up”
Max waited for 5 seconds for Thomas to wake up but nothing happen, Max thought the druid was pulling him a prank but she was giving him the look of ‘I’m not lying, he’s gonna wake up right now, be patient’, Max was about to shout at the druid if she’s lying but then Thomas start moving, he was shaking again his arms and legs, later, he get up and he turn on his brother and he said to him:
“What happened? ugh, I have a headache, what’s going on?, am I alive?”
Max was amazed that his brother is alive (but with a headache) and he talk to him.
“Thomas, are you really alive?” “I think so, Oh my god this headache, what the hell”
“Your brother made the right choice and for doing that, I will give the food as your reward, good job, have a nice adventure travelers”
And the druid transformed herself into dust and the wind took her like a wisp of smoke.
Max was glad that Thomas is still alive and they were about to talk but the booming voice of Terry in their mind returned again.
“Looks like you survived, I don’t know which one of you is the smart because a kid of high school called Max couldn’t crack the most obvious hint ever even if he’s in high school, I don’t know how you get there”
“Terry, I thought the hint is a difficult one”
“I hope that’s why you couldn’t solve it because if that wasn’t the reason, I’ll call you stupid”
“Ok Terry, that was in the past, lets just focus on our main priority of return home”
“Ok, come back here with food because I’m feeling so lonely”
“We’ll return Terry with the food”
“Alright, I’ll be waiting”
“Ok Thomas, lets grab all the food and return to the shelter with Terry”Max said without saying a thing about what happened to Thomas recently.
“Ok” Thomas nodded.
They take a look on the food and it was amazing, there was bread, apples, carrots, candy, chicken, sausages recently cooked, etc. Max and Thomas grabbed all the food and they put all the food on their backpacks but there was no space so they start finding bags for the food and luckily, they found big ones near the post and there was a note and it says Just in case, they deducted it must be from the druid since she was the owner of the post but they focus on the food, they grabbed the bags and they put the rest of the food in the bags and then, they walk to the exit of Lilithopia and they walk on the path, this long walk was more long than the previous one, they took one hour to return because of their heavy backpacks and the heavier bags of food, they were so tired and they were desperate to return and eat the food and sleep in the shelter, they finally return and Terry was waiting for him like he said.
“You finally return, it’s been too long and it looks like you have the food, wow, you look tired”
“Yeah, these bags are so heavy” Thomas said.
“Don’t worry kids, eat the food and then you rest because you look hungry and exhausted”
“Thanks Terry” Max said.
“You’re welcome kids”
Max and Thomas were eating for 8 minutes cause of the hunger they have, when they finished, they went to the shelter to their beds with their stomach full and they fell asleep. While Max and Thomas were sleeping, Terry was under the shelter waiting for the day but he was worried after he discovered Max and Thomas’s names, he was a little paranoid but then someone was coming and he called Terry.
“Well hello there Elizabeth, how are you?”
“Fine, thanks for asking Terry”
It was Elizabeth, the druid that gave the brothers the food, she arrive to Max and Thomas’ shelter to talk with Terry about them.
“Terry, you know what’s gonna happen if they stay in this world, right?”
“Yes but they must stay, this world needs them”
“I know but they are in great danger, we must get them back home”“But we need them, don’t worry, they’re in great hands”
“If you say so but they will need these”
Elizabeth showed to Terry two amulets.
“What are those things?” Terry asked.
“These are the amulets of protection, if they’re in great danger, these amulets will protect them from evil”
“Great, leave it in their shelter, I’m gonna tell them they must use it”
Alright”Elizabeth climbed to the shelter and she leave the amulets on the floor and she climb down.
“Thanks Elizabeth, I think they will need you one day”
“Yes they will but one more thing”
“What is it?”
“Don’t tell about the S.O.T.T”
“Okay, I won’t”
“Good”
“Thank you Elizabeth, I hope I can protect them”
“Goodbye Terry, have a good night”
“You too”
Elizabeth run to the forest and she disappeared, Terry was waiting for the day and he was a little paranoid, what if they know about the S.O.T.T?, what if he can’t protect them?, but he must do it so they can save them from something that it’s tormenting the people of the world but sometimes he has doubts if they can’t save them.
