Hello Everyone,

I’m Shannon Vierra. I’m originally from Santa Clara, CA and now live in the East Bay. I am the oldest of five and am both the easiest and toughest one to deal with. Kind of a Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde complex I guess. Completing the first book Fragments from my series The Chimera Snare was a big accomplishment for me and certainly overdue.

I have no fancy schooling in writing or literature, just a vision and a journey which I want to share with those who will join me. I had the general concept for this series in my mind, brewing, ever since high school. It took some time to settle down and hammer it out. I believe that no matter what dreams you have, you should always set aside time to attain them. You only live this life once and what a better way to spend it then doing the things you love.

Music. Now that’s a topic. Music means everything to me and I cannot live without it. I have music for driving, music for working, music for the times when want to just let everything out. There is music for every mood. Music inspires me so much, more than words can describe. In fact, I have dedicated my first book in part to the following bands: Agalloch, Bella Morte, Diary of Dreams, Esoteric, Explosions in the Sky, God Module, God is an Astronaut, Hammock, Katatonia, Krohm, Lights Out Asia, Lycia, Mogwai, Moonlit Sailor, Morgion, My Dying Bride, Nine Inch Nails, Orgy, Pelican, Rapture, Shape of Despair, Signal Hill, This Will Destroy You, Wumpscut, Velvet Acid Christ, and Zeraphine.

By Far I have to say that it was Agalloch’s Album The Mantle, Bella Morte’s Remains, Diary of Dreams’ Freak Perfume, Lycia’s Cold, Shape of Dispair’s Shades of... and Velvet Acid Christ’s Twisted Though Generator that has been a constant inspiration for me.

I will say, It all began during a Caltrain Ride in from San Jose to San Francisco. I had the most intense dream ever. It was to the two songs In the Shadow of My Pale Companion and The Celebration of the Life and Death of Man, back to back. I originally only meant to write a storyboard for it, but, when I thought about it, I knew I had to start writing my book too.

Now, don’t call me the crazy cat lady. I’m just kidding, you can. I have six of them, four of which are rescues and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. I stand up for animal rights and spread the world as best as I can.

I enjoy just about anything artistic that I can learn to do such as painting, polymer clay molding, wood burning, graphic and clothing design and even dabbling in music.
