THE BEGGAR GIANT

Shalom city, one of the most influential cities in the world.  The city is known for its oil resources and great achievements in technology, being the first to make flying trains by low level flight technique with amazing speeds, which then served as a lift power to so many vehicles that could fly.  The city has laid the foundation for future, but it is their starting step into reality.  The city has a population of 9.100 million and most of its people are successful engineers, doctors, and scientists.  Some are billionaires and business giants who run advanced labs and testing centers to young scientists and talented students to come up with new ideas and innovations to level up the cities technological as well as economical standards.  Most of the cities economy comes from oil resources, crude and Brent.  While this is one side of the city, but there is another side to it, the poor and darker side.  The city is a cornerstone to future, but as the power of technology increases for good things, there are forces which crave for its resources for destruction.

Chapter:  1

To north of the Shalom city is the quad column, this is the rusted part of the city, shabby and a dumbing ground for all those wastes that come from the labs and testing centers from the city.  Alexis, who is a beggar, collects things that are reusable from these wastes and gives to Marv at the Moleculizer, (a Moleculizer is a huge machine which converts the waste into fermofedium, which forms one of the key substance that is used in low level flight).  Most of which Alexis picks as reusable, goes into Moleculizer.  There will be no penny for Alexis for months, if at all it is considered reusable Marv pays Alexis only three Rups, which can take care of him for two days say like two meals, the rest of the time Alexis begs for food and essentials.

Alexis, is an orphan, abandoned by his parents due to lack of money and left him for dogs, but he got saved by the slums of Shalom which nourished him.  There were days when Alexis goes on crying and no body bothers as there are more children like him left on the square who become a catch for the dogs, many didn’t survive.  Even as he grew up, the slum gave him food, but he needs to beg.  Alexis mostly begs in Quad 2, near quad column, where the retailers sell accessories for PLY-C, these are the vehicles that fly……to be continued.
