Greetings! It is so nice to see you here in my neck of the woods.

I figure it is my neck of the woods since they let me write things and such around here. Other than that, I am still pretty lost and figuring things out. While I figure things out, please follow my space here as well as my book. I don’t have a title for it yet; for now I am just calling it "The Avii." As soon as I get my pieces put together enough to call one a "chapter," I’ll have it here for your perusal!

My name is Kandice. Home is somewhere back in Oklahoma. Nowhere near this crazy digital place of words, pictures, imaginations gone wild, hopes, and dreams spewed about for the world to see and digitally trod upon. It’s full of cats, dogs, a snake, and several of those human creatures as well. I love to write and so I fill my free time with it. Hopefully, you all enjoy the worlds that come forth from mine in all their excitement and fervor.

This particular story began with my need to dig myself out a rut with a fantasy story I have been working on for over a year. I started doing writing exercises and pushed myself to do something different. Fantasy is my happy place, so I chose to work a sci-fi short story with a dash of fantasy on it. In lieu of medieval warfare and dragons, I chose to work with advanced technology, space travel, aliens, and neutron stars!

Soon after starting my exercises, my mind broke free and unleashed a torrent of words, worlds, pictures, and characters I did not want to contain. So here I am trying to share it with the world. Please enjoy!

As you follow my work and progress, I will also follow and encourage all of my fellow writers. I ask for as much assistance as you are willing to give. Whether you wish only to comment on the overall story arc or get down into the nitty-gritty grammar and spelling of it all, I will graciously accept all help!
