Gotta love a good dose of lighting and fire and sun, Fiza!

I’ve started to read the first chapter so far, and all this lightning, fire and sun stuff is very cool and enjoyable!

Hello everyone!

Thanks for taking the time to read my work. I’ve been getting some similar questions from readers, so I thought I’d put out a general FAQs list for you all to see.

1. At the moment, only seven chapters of Book One are posted. I’m working through my editor’s notes and will hopefully have all of book one reviewed and posted by the end of the year.

2. Yes, Book Two and Book Three are in progress. Book Two is complete, but still in need of major editing. Book Three is about 1/4 completed. I’ve not yet decided if I’ll post the full trilogy on Inkshares.

3. Since the original fantasy competition I participated in, there hasn’t been another publishing contest that my book would fit into, but if one arises I will certainly give it another go! Thanks for the encouragement.

This is very good.  Please don’t give up!

Well hello,

The contest is over and done and, sadly, I didn't crack the top 5. On a much cooler note, I was only 13 away from cracking the top 20 and that's pretty awesome.

I went into this competition hoping for no more than some real-world experience and perhaps some helpful critique. Little did I know I would gain that and more. The amount of support I received both from friends and complete strangers nearly knocked me back on the floor. 80 people willing to come forward and support my crazy dream. That means more to me than I could possibly ever put into words.

To my fellow authors, who took the time from their own projects to contact me, give advice, or offer me a place among their networks - You are fantastic and amazing human beings. I will never forget you.

To my readers, who took a chance on an unknown writer with no experience to her name - You are brave and kind (and have fantastic taste). What's more, you were willing to put your name behind my story and that is more than I could have ever asked for.

So, yes. The competition is over, but the dream doesn't die. I'm young, I'm wide-eyed, and I truly believe that I can make this happen.

Don't forget about me. I won't forget about you.

Hey readers,

9 days until the end of the contest and I'm beyond proud to say that I've received SEVENTY-NINE preorders! That's crazy! It still blows my mind that 79 people think "The Elements: Descension" is worth reading, and paying for.

And I've met so many awesome people in the past few weeks. From those halfway across the country (like Jodhan Ford, Dave Barrett, John Robin, Janna Liggan, and Andrew Ainsworth) to those just down the street (like A.C. Weston)! It helps when you know that you've got an incredible community of writers cheering you on.

While I may not be at all close to making the leader board, the support I've received from a bunch of random people I've never met is incredible. And that makes me feel like I actually have a shot in the long run, because that's what this is all about, right?

I promise you all, once this competition is done, I won't give up. You will see The Elements Trilogy on the shelves on day. I guarantee it.

Sincerely,
Lauren

"In one hand, a chance; in the other, ashes." I love this. I look forward to reading Lauren's book and recommend supporting female sci-fi/fantasy authors whenever we can! :) Get this book!

Hello everyone!

Less than 3 weeks left in the competition and I cannot even being to describe the amount of love I feel toward each and every one of you. Whether you followed me, pre-ordered a book, or left a recommendation, I absolutely cherish you all. I still honestly can't believe I've tricked 71 of you into thinking my book is actually good.

To those of you who've left critiques or suggestions, I have taken every single one into consideration and you have improved the quality of my story immensely.

Thank you once again.

- Lauren

Hello everyone!

I've received a few questions recently about whether or not the rest of The Elements Trilogy is complete. As you can see, Book One: Descension is done and posted for the competition. Book Two: Tribulation is also done, but not posted. Book Three: Ascension is only about 1/4 of the way there.

So yes! Fear not, you will most certainly get to see what becomes of Aleaneo, Aedyn, and the rest of their company.

Happy reading,

Lauren
