Discussion

Hi everybody,

Funding for The Art of Misdirection continues. We're a (very) long way from hitting the funding target - but still have plenty of time to go and some interesting stuff on the horizon.

In the meantime, I've added a new chapter excerpt that you will hopefully enjoy. You should have received an email notification with a link to this today, but if not you can access here: https://www.inkshares.com/projects/the-art-of-misdirection/book_segments/chapter-thirty-four-excerpt-

If that's not enough, there's a new never-before-published short story available for you to read on my blog here: http://tinyurl.com/qc9mkvp

The Collector is an 1870s set mystery. Young Will Lancaster returns to his family home following the death of his father to claim his inheritance, but finds nothing is quite as expected. What happened at St James' Hall on 15th May 1870? And what sort of collection could rob a man of all his belongings ... and his sanity?

I hope you enjoy the story.

While funding continues, please do keep spreading the word.

  • Link to the page at Inkshares, (already pre-ordered? Share with someone else who might like it. Remember, you don't get charged a penny unless we hit the target)
  • Follow me on Twitter at @paul_cunliffe, (I don't tweet about the book very often, but when I do it would be great if you could retweet!)
  • Visit to my blog for writing samples and articles
  • Any other way you can help spread the word? Just let me know!

Thanks for your continued support!

Paul

Hi everyone, thank you so much for your support with The Art of Misdirection. It means a great deal to see pre-orders coming in just a few days after launching the campaign - and all your social shares and word-spreading really helps to give the campaign a boost too!

In terms of current progress, the final edit (as I am hopefully calling it) is coming along very well with just a few small changes left to be made. Exciting times.

You can now read Chapters 2 and 3 of the novel either on the Inkshares page or here on my blog: https://paulcunliffe.wordpress.com/2015/08/09/art-of-misdirection-free-sample/

As a bonus there are also some interviews on the blog that I conducted with a few writers some years ago. Several have not seen the light of day in many years and none were published in this exact form previously. You'll find some interesting thoughts from Nick Hornby, Jonathan Safran Foer and Markus Zusak for starters, with more to come.

Soon I hope to share some new artwork with you for The Art of Misdirection (or TAOM as the cool kids call it) and some samples from later on in the story.

For now, thank you for your support!
