Right now we have 26 pre-orders, which puts us in 7th place in the Geek & Sundry Hard Science Fiction contest. But we still have a ways to go. Only the novels with the three most pre-orders will be selected for publication. At the moment, that means we would need about 110 more people to agree to pre-order the book to get us to third place. With 26 readers, that means if each person can convince 5 friends to buy the book, we’re in.
At which point, you get to brag to people that you are close personal friends with a published novelist. And when The Armageddon Countdown is made into a movie staring Jennifer Lawrence, Peter Dinklage, and James McAvoy, you’ll be able to say that the writer invited you to hang out with the cast on set.
Don’t think of it as helping out a friend. Think of it as an investment in future awesomeness and Peter Dinklage’s acting career.

Our next milestone is to reach 50 readers. That will put us in 5th place and within striking distance of the final three! I’ll release the third chapter once we hit 50 readers, so if you want to know what happens next, make sure to promote the hell out of this thing.
We made the top 10! We’re currently sitting pretty at number 8, and if we can make it to number 3 we’ll get published! Our next goal is 25 readers, only 4 more than we have now.
