Synopsis:
In an alternate present, Titusville, Florida, once famously known as the Space Coast of the United States of America, is now ravaged and destroyed. Its destruction is just a fraction of the destruction suffered by the former super-nation. Economic sabotage, exploitation, and treacherous, corrupt government officials helped cause the nation to succumb to its old master, the Imperian Kingdoms. Reformed over a hundred years ago from the old British Empire, the Imperian Kingdoms now stand as the supreme power in the world. Civilians of the United States, known as colonists are violently branded and forced into slavery, broken and humiliated.
Sterling Goddard is a twenty five year old colonist. His life as a simple slave is thrown into disarray when he falls for the gorgeous Princess Brianna Imperian-Windsor after saving her life. Subsequent to saving Brianna, Sterling is badly beaten and taken prisoner by Strauss, a man who’s more than human. After being tortured, mutilated, and finally healed, Sterling is eventually released and appointed as the princess’ personal knight and protector. Far away in London, the legendary Dragoons stir under the Emperor’s orders. The intelligence group S.I.V.I.N. watches as war is thrust upon the people, both Imperian and colonists alike. A mysterious masked man, Forte, leads the revolutionary group, Auxilia, to liberate and free America once again. He is seemingly willing to kill and sacrifice anything to win. In response, Sterling is given the first EXO-skeleton, the unique Ansin – Gaelic possessing sentient Artificial Intelligence with strong desires to see its own will done. The deadly and powerful armor forcibly invades Sterling’s mind, forming a symbiotic relationship that is both beneficial and traumatic. Gaelic’s invasion on his mind tempts Sterling to kill, trying to make him forsake his reason for fighting, and vow to protect. Hidden primal desires are scratched as his willpower slowly erodes, revealing a dark side of something he secretly desires. While harboring a forbidden love, Sterling is tasked with protecting the woman he desires, and stopping Forte (whose secret identity would destroy Sterling and everything around him if exposed). Having to battle enemies inside and out, Sterling - with Gaelic, must turn against his own nation to save the ones he loves and hates. I have a desire to tell stories. I’m an unpublished author and I work in the Automotive Performance Industry. I love my job, but I love writing and telling big epics even more.
About The Ansin Wars:
I started writing the story in 2008. It has been a long, trying and ultimately fun process. I’ve fallen in love with the characters and story over the years. This is the first book in a series. Five books are planned and I’m working on converting them to a graphic novel as well.
I’ve always been a fan of science fiction. Growing up on the Space Coast of Florida I was always surrounded by it. My father helped me design the technology used in the story for a year before I wrote the first sentence. I wanted to tell a story that would bring out my passion for comics, classic sci-fi and anime. Captain America and Iron Man were huge inspirations for the story. The second was Mobile Suit Gundam and the anime Code Geass.
I’ve always been obsessed by power armor and mechs growing up and as an adult. I wanted to write a story to share that passion in a new epic that people could get behind, bicker and argue over which character was right and wrong.
