I write technical documentation in Silicon Valley during the week and spend my weekends writing screenplays.

Why did I decide to write Tethered and Lost?

I discovered the 39 volume set of Time Life World War II books within my elementary school library in the 4th grade. Each week I stretched the seams of my tiny pack by shoving in a few volumes to read at home. The photographs and maps in those books mesmerized me, particularly the pictures of London during the Blitz. Barrage balloons lurked in several. I couldn’t understand how one of the most fragile objects I was familiar with, a balloon, could protect anything. The sagging silhouettes of Barrage Balloons stuck in my mind for decades.

I can thank a bowl full of goldfish crackers for triggering a string of mental images that lead to this story.
