I’ve been busy travelling and I am on my way to settling in a new country.
First and foremost I will be returning to work on this project soon, with completion in mind. I am not sure what I am going to post next on Inkshares but I will let you know when I’ve progressed further with the writing. Feel free to let me know what you’d like to see.
Over the next few months I will be getting more world content created, but the main focus will be finish this story.
I hope this finds you all well and keep those pens sharp,
So the next part of Swordchild Rises has been posted. Sorry for the delay, it was written but I was “uming” and ahhing about whether it was a suitable transition into the next stage of the story, then I decided it was a draft anyway so it can all be changed late. Then I proceeded to get busy at work and generally had less time to get it to a point I was happy with others reading it.
This is basically Part One of Three for this Chapter – the rest of the chapter is written in skeletal stages but it needs some work to continue on from this part and at the moment I am working on some later parts of the story. I still want to share some of what I've done with you and will resume work on the following scenes soon.
Today I have something I think is very cool to share. The first visual representation of Eldyntia, the world Swordchild Rises is set in.
This piece was done by renflowergrapx at Fiverr. I am pretty stoked with how it turned out - it's not the complete or the final map, but it will give you and I, a general idea of the world. This also makes it much easier for me to conceptualize for more world building.
I hope you enjoy it - I will be in touch again soon, until then happy reading and writing!
Thanks again for following this project - there will be some new writing coming up soon. I've updated and made some edits to the opening sequence, removed dashes and taken some suggestions.
The map design is underway and I am very much looking forward to it. It will allow me to do a bit more definitive and strategic world-building. I will be sharing it as soon as I have it in my hot little hands.
I am at the point of just trying to produce actual writing content rather than world-building information and summaries. I am still figuring out some dynamics that will influence the story. I have trouble just producing writing unless there is a solid explanation and reason for things happening, otherwise I am constantly questioning what I've written or planned.
I have just posted a draft of the opening sequence - please enjoy and give feedback. I apologise for the delay I went on holiday for a week- and forgot to take that into account.
I am in the process of getting a map illustrated for the world the story is set in - I can't give any confirmed time period but I hope to have it ready to show you within in the next couple of weeks. In the meantime, let me know what you think of the opening sequence and let me know what else you'd like to read or see.
