This story was inspired by a newspaper article I read in the 90’s about a local police sting operation designed to ferret out murder-for-hire conspirators.

I grew up in New York in the early 60’s and remember visiting the 1964 World’s Fair. It remains in my mind as a special time and place, and I wanted to capture that in this story as well. Stung was originally written as a film noir style screenplay, then a light cop comedy, then a Hammett-meets-Hiaasen crime novel. It has been tweaked and turned numerous times. It continues to evolve.
