Quick update! I clicked "Send to followers" on Chapter 1 because I spent tonight re-positioning the beginning paragraphs of the story. Since I did, all the uploads are now out of order, and needed to be edited with the current version. Sorry! Thanks for understanding! I’ve uploaded another chapter on top of the edits to correct the oops :)

New upload under READ: Chapter 3!

The Human and the Thief run into a bit of trouble on R43 with the Rekkel royalty. And it only gets worse for them from there.

Expect similar uploads over on https://www.wattpad.com/user/IAmTheVictorian as I continue to keep both sites updated at least once a week (or two!) with content.

Remember that only this site will get exclusive lore (ooooo fancy) type uploads because you guys deserve it :)

I’ve just finished moving to a place in England called the Cotswolds which, by the looks of the forest outside my window, will be perfect for inspiration and defragmenting my brain during the editing process of Steel’s Earth. More EXCLUSIVE excerpts (capitals to show how fancy it is, also because they’re no where else online but here) coming soon once I’ve recovered from packing and unpacking and long drives.

NEWS!

The book is complete. Early before the deadline of April 30th for Camp NaNoWriMo. I am totally and entirely excited to start editing and smoothing things out.

In that regard, I’ve updated the ’first chapter’ upload with my first revision!

I’ve spent today reworking the first 20, a good day on top of finishing the draft itself.

If you intend on reading it, let me know what you think! I hope it captures the essence of the rest of the book. I will upload more sections the more I revise and rewrite.

Also note: my intentions with Inkshares is to use it as a database for my work, to see how it’s represented in public (cover, uploads, whatever else) so I can work on finalizing synopses and pitch pages to send out.

It’s not that I think Inkshares doesn’t work, but I’m not the public speaker type, let alone the type of person to hype their work (regardless of how excited I am about Steel’s Earth (sorry Affinities)) in order to accrue a footing for a platform such as this.

There are far more uses out of Inkshares than simply trying to get funding, and I’m enjoying the site in the ways I use it.

I’m close to finishing. In fact, the projected synopsis has been effectively written out! Though that means I’m short roughly 15k words, I’m now down to less than 10k words left to write.

That means going over what I’ve written, and updating each paragraph or sentence with details and lore I’ve concocted while writing. Once that’s finished I’ll have ’chapters’ (I never separated anything into chapters while writing... oops) to upload here. Some of the stuff I’ve uploaded are excerpts that I’ve taken from my notes about the universe (or galaxy, in this case).

Expect something uploaded from the book, like a first chapter or something, by the beginning of May!

I’m waiting for the system to show the cover. I’ve been attempting for days. So, instead I made a ’chapter’ and uploaded the image of the cover there. Oh well.
