State of Decay is a literary horror novel in which Tim, a young teacher, moves to his new London home triggering a series of terrifying events. Events which will involve a number of his neighbours as they seek to battle an unspeakable foe.

What are the strange markings that appear in the house? They aren’t paintings, they seem to be coming from within the walls. Are Tim’s night-terrors bad dreams or something else?

Teenage BFFs Lucy and Pig are passionate about anything to do with the paranormal. They are soon to find that, what feels like harmless fun, is anything but.

Senior citizen Mary MacDonald knows the previous owner of the house himself experienced a lifetime of uncanny events. She also knows that Tim’s arrival in the street is causing an escalation of things she cannot explain. She’s a woman of action and will not sit idly by.

Is the house haunted? If only it were that simple. And who is the strange man who seems to be watching them all?

’State of Decay’ has been brewing in my mind for some years. I describe it as a cross between Miss Marple, as the wonderful Mary investigates, and Peter Straub’s ’Ghost Story’ as the frightening events wrap their arms around a number of characters from different generations from Mary herself to an eight year old boy.

I’m very excited to get feedback from readers! How do I want you to feel? Well you know those nights you wake up bathed in sweat and feeling a malevolent presence in your home (or is it just me)? That’s the feeling I want to evoke in my readers.
