Hey! My Name is Robert Lane. I’m a digital video producer working in Norman, OK-go Sooners! I love telling stories. I’m usually writing short screenplays, but this will be different: prose, sweet, sweet prose.

The story I’m presenting is called Special Circumstances. The story is about the last of humanity who find themselves without a home, and is caught in the middle of an ancient war against an enemy so old that one remembers what they look like anymore.

The story was born out of my fascination with human behavior. If humanity had a chance to start over somewhere new, would we carry all our nasty baggage with us? That’s the question I would like to answer.

This will be my very first attempt at writing a novel and I’m nervous and excited. I’m doing this because I want to test myself to see if I can even do this. Writing is hard ass work, but once it gets in your blood that’s all you want to do, no matter how many times you wanna go Kylo Ren on your computer. You gotta do it.
