I’m Brogan Chattin. I’m 21 years old and I write fiction, but you can split my work into distinct genres. I’m new to the publishing scene, I’ve always felt intimidated by the changing landscape of publishing, but I wanted to see if I could compete for readers rather than compete for an agent or publisher. Hopefully this is a book someone wants to read.

This was the first novella I wrote with confidence. The idea hit me one night and I tried to work it all out ever since. It is a thriller or a horror, but with a dark comedic tone. Everything pops and is colorful like your favorite comic book.

The story is about a young man named Barry Barreaux that returns to his hometown after years of being across the country so he can investigate the death of his sister Barbara. He sees old friends and flames, plus some new faces. His old home feels alien to him, or even hostile. To make matters worse, his sister was murdered, with the culprit still at large. Barry seeks redemption and answers in this colorful, dark, disturbing, pulpy world where the line between reality and everything else blurs as the story goes on. Near the end, there are some supernatural elements that help define the tone and themes of the book. Wouldn’t want to spoil those in a summary.

Why should you buy my book?
1. Maybe you would want to support a starving young writer that wants to write fiction?
2.The manuscript is already done. Save for editing and a few more rewrites, the framework is fully complete. I will post excerpts of the manuscript and talk about the process of making the characters and story throughout the project’s lifespan.
3. Because of #2, I’m going to make a promise: if you back my project and it doesn’t go through, I will give you the final copy of the manuscript for free in good faith. You wanted to support me, and I’m just grateful for the sentiment.
