My name is Bret Starnes. I’m 40 years old and live in the suburbs of Minneapolis in Minnesota. I’ve been writing for most of my life, but this is the first time I’ve ever tried to get anything published. My book is called Skyfade. It is the first book in a planned trilogy called Venus Incensed.

Skyfade takes place in the future, after humans have spread out though the solar system and colonized it. The initial attempt to terraform Mars was a unmitigated disaster that led to a massive loss of life. It was therefor used to smash into Venus and turn it into another Earth. Now Thousands of years later, Earth is trying to maintain it’s control over the Solar System by politics and force while pirates from the Uranian system run amok. Venus has something in place that slowly unfolds before Erik Helseth and his twin sister Erika, officers in the Venusian Protectorate. Pilots and bodyguards for Senator Lacy, their lives are turned upside down in just a few days.
