Welcome to the Sirius Sled Patrol...
The Sirius Sled Patrol is responsible for patrolling the North East Greenland National Park, conducting long range reconnaissance throughout the vast expanses of Greenland. Patrols last for four months, and in the winter, there is no sunlight. ’Delta Patrol’ has not been in communication with headquarters for months and is presumed missing. Aksel Olsen has just went through the grueling tests to join the patrol about to fulfill his boyhood dream of sledding as part of the Slædepatruljen Sirius. Olsen is running from his past and his regrets, while his partner Ulrich has spent a career in Greenland, at home on the ice. The two men have just been put together as a team. The Sirius Sled Patrol teams consist of two men and twelve dogs and they must work as one to survive on the ice. Ulrich and Olsen are the ’Echo Patrol’, their mission; to patrol the expanse of Greenland from Mestersvig to Station Nord and find out what happened to Delta Patrol. In Station Nord they are scheduled to be picked up by a cargo plane after the long Winter night, but will they find Delta Patrol and will they make it to the cargo plane on time?
About Sirius
Sirius is a bone chilling horror book to lose yourself to under the covers at night. Inspired by Dark Matter, Jacob’s Ladder and The Thing it aims to explore themes such as isolation, mental health and what it means to be human.
Sirius is told through journal entries of main character, new recruit Aksel Olsen. Through the book we learn about Aksel’s relationship, his inner feelings and how he thinks he is being followed by an unimaginable horror over the ice. What is the horror? Is it his past, is it all in his head, or is something really out there?
